@ renee LOL! :p

im wondering if he keeps calling himself "the mainstream dog owner" because he truly thinks he is...
or if hes HOPING if he says it enough itll make it true?

you know...like the guy in college that thought if he told everyone he could have any girl he wanted to wed all belive him and it would automatically make it true!

"the mainstream dog owner", new this fall on animal planet.... it's all a marketing ploy for his new tv show.

Aww, darn, I missed all this. I am still trying to pick my jaw up off the floor. Its probably a good thing I missed this, because after reading one of laurs first posts, I had smoke comming out of my ears. Not at you, laur, but at the person you were refering too and describing. I honestly think this person knew he was dead wrong and was arguing just for the sake of arguing... In classic troll fashion. If pit bulls kill babies, madison would have been 6 feet under a very long time ago. Small crates are cruel. My 3 pound chihuahua is in his crate half of the day. Why? Because he enjoys his personal "cubby hole", NOT because I lock him in there. Good job, chazers, you've all done an amazing job. I was sooo cheering on the side lines. Haha.

On topic: Slowly some people are actually learning about this. They did not before but now they know. The first link deals with a breeder that the second link applies to.

Wags N Wiggles
by jenn22L at Citysearch

three years ago i was going to look for a dog. i was seventeen and should have known more before i went to look. one of the places was Wags n Wiggles off of Dubuque road in Snohomish. it was fairly close so i called and she told me to come on over! she was sitting there with her mom smoking a cigarette outside. she didn't answer many of my questions...she acted as if she didn't hear me. when i told her i was looking to purchase a dog that day she started to help. i told her i wanted a yorkie or something small like one,but she "didnt have any". she had this weird little fenced off part connected in front of her house...with a dog door that went inside. Renee told me she was going to let out all her small dogs.

five minutes later she opens the dog door, and out flies about twenty small different mixed dogs. All dirty and matted. one of the dogs jumped up on the fence with loving eyes and wouldn't leave me alone. i picked it up,and asked what the breeds mixed were. i could tell it definitely it had yorkie colorings.Renee told me it was a Yorkie/Pom. And i asked how much it was...she told me 500. Also, when i asked how big it will get she said only 3 times its size (mind you this dog was only like 3 pounds at the time). And who else wouldn't believe her, shes supposedly this good "dog breeder".

So i went to my car and thought about it. And decided to get the dog. he looked like he needed a good home. so i told renee i would purchase this dog. she told me to come inside and wait on the stairs while she got stuff ready. i waited for about 10 minutes. signed this paper and then she asked for the money. and she said it would be "569.00 dollars" and i said... well you told me it was 500,where is the extra money coming from?...and renee told me there was TAX!! how stupid i was to believe that a dog being sold would have tax. and i didnt even get papers!!!!! but after that i was like whatever, i have a new puppy to love!

well now its been three years....i still have my dog. he is about 20-25 pounds...and still has yorkie coloring...but NO pom in him AT ALL. I can't even tell what he is,and neither can the vets. after about a week of having him he started to show his true self. He got all shy and scared of EVERYTHING...literally,i can't even hold a toothpick to him without him crying and running and cowering down. and also he has something wrong with his back legs/hips. he walks with a limp, that is so bad...half the time he doesnt really walk. I love my Little mixture of a dog, Romeo, he is the sweetest dog and will give you plenty of kisses if you let him. but its so sad looking at him, when he's always in pain.

i heard about all the puppy mills in january, and started to wonder. and finally i looked up the address of wags n wiggles, just out of curiosity to get my mind away with it. and i found RENEE ROSKE'S ADDRESS!!!!! this is crazy and i see i'm DEFINITELY not the only one!!! This is a horrible thing, and is not fair to these innocent puppies. and she hasn't even gotten in trouble yet!!

i wouldn't have rated this AT ALL if i had the choice.

* Pros: i love my dog.
* Cons: unhealthy dog.

All I can say if dogs are so much happier to be in the wild and not in crates then I would hate to see all the matted long hair dogs running out there. Hope he doesn't own a brush or take the dog to a groomer because if putting your dog in crate is so evil what is grooming doing to the dog. You will be crushing your dog's soul by grooming it.

I want to say something else, but I'm going to keep my mouth shut before I get in trouble.

lol Wow... that took ages to read but great thread guys.

I havn't really got much I can add now except.

Getting Buster his crate was the best thing I could've done for him, he retires himself to bed in it and loves hanging out in there.
He hates being left outside, he likes some time out in the sun to rest and relax every day or two but after an hour or 2 he comes back to the back door and asks to be let back in again.

I'm sorry.

I find those paps to be kept in inhumane conditions. There is no reason they should be kept in crates like that away from their pack.

The toughest thing I do as a dog owner is to crate my puppy. I really dont like doing it. But when I am at home, he is out the full time.

Those crates are smaller than any of the puppy mills crates.

The hypocracy is unbelievable. It truly is.
I don't post much because I don't have internet at home and not a lot of spare time at work, I just lurk when I get the chance. I just could not let this pass without comment.

I don't have anything to add that hasn't already been said but he above quote had me :rofl1:, crush has obviously never looked at any of Laurelin's previous posts and pictures of her dogs. I've often thought that if I was going to be reincarnated as an animal, coming back as one of Laurelin's dogs would be just about as good as it can get. Unfortunately, when I take that "What breed are you" quiz, no matter how I adjust my answers I keep getting told I'm a GSD, not a Pap or a BC :lol-sign:
