Growing up I wore them all of the time, but then stopped wearing them in high school and college. Over the past couple of years, I found a new love for them. They're pretty much all I wear in the summer. They're just so comfortable and easy- no need to worry about matching a top to a bottom!

So... who else loves dresses? What are your favorite places to shop for them? I've found so many cute ones at Ann Taylor Loft lately, and I love Lilly Pulitzer as well- so many fun patterns to choose from! I wish that Modcloth dresses fit me... I'll see one that is cute, order it, and then it looks all wrong =/

This is pretty much the only thing I'm girly about. Pants are just so uncomfortable in comparison- especially in the summer heat.

I like dresses but I don't wear them a whole lot. if we are going out for dinner or to church I will but the rest of the time I don't. I don't like my legs touching together lol. I'd have to wear shorts under the skirts anyway because that drives me nuts (two of my skirts have shorts built in underneath lol). Plus I'm down on the ground with Hannah a lot or climbing playground equipment or something so skirts and dresses are often a no go for that kind of thing lol.

But I do like dresses. I have quite a few but just don't wear them that often because they just aren't functional for me.

If I had a little kid I couldn't imagine chasing them around in dresses... I'd end up flashing the world :rofl1:

Ohhh... Me! Me!

I LOVE dresses - so cute and comfy <3 I buy dresses from really anywhere... Cute is my only requirement ;)

love wearing dresses, hate shaving my legs, so i don't wear them often

I have 1 word for you.
LEGGINGS.

lol if it wasn't for my black leggings.. I might never be in skirts/dresses. :rofl1:

Even if not for the shaving thing, especially in the more wispy/tulle dresses, I love having leggings for those windy days! lol

Cool dress.

I'm like the least girly person ever, but I think dresses are so awesome!

I don't own even one dress, I have yet to find one that looks even a little flattering. I generally just look like a huge balloon :rofl1:

I LOVE dresses! I live in them in summer.

Yeah, I can only imagine the difficulty of shaving through man hair. I think that Fran's legging suggestion would be a good one for you, but you may have to worry about the prickly hairs sticking out!

I hate shaving my legs too, but the ease of throwing on a dress is worth shaving! I use an electric razor since I'm very good at cutting my legs up with an actual razor (and the small pieces of TP stuck on my bleeding cuts isn't very attractive!).

I'm a BIG fan of Empire waist dresses, like this:

This is the exact dress that I'm wearing today... it's so soft and comfy:

It's a t-shirt dress with ruffled sleeves and I'm in love with it!

I feel like the only person who DOESN'T like maxi dresses. I feel like they entirely defeat the purpose of wearing a dress- they seem so confining! I like all dresses to go above my knees.

It's okay, have friends like that, I'm like that too. Is it possible to be a woman and still feel like you're doing drag?
Heeheehee weird but yeah...even with full makeup and nails, t shirt and jeans is still my uniform...ahhh, probably wuz a queen in my last life...

I have two dresses. One is a great little black dress form Limited....in size XS, and I'm sooo not an XS any more. The other is a great little black dress....a size M maternity dress. So, ummm, it's quite easy to say that I'm not a dress person. In fact, the last time I wore a dress was in April 2006 when I was pregnant with Cole. :D

With that said, since all you dress-lovers are on here, I could use some help. My best friend is getting married (for the 2nd time), and this time around things are going to be somewhat casual. The wedding is on August 4th and is outside in a cute little pavillion overlooking 30 acres of gently rolling hills (hey, this is southeast Louisiana, so don't read too much into the "hills" part of things ;) ). Anyway, she wants me in a cute summery dress with cowboy boots (we're horse people :D ). I know I've seen images of such dresses, but they were only in passing (magazines, t.v., etc.). I have NO idea what I should be looking for, or even where. Any ideas and store suggestions would be great! :)

As for the boots, I've been dying to buy another pair, as I do want some I can wear with jeans and whatnot seeing as how my current pairs have had more than their fare share of pasture duty, riding duty, and sunshine and rain. Needless to say, that while I love them forever and ever, they are not dress worthy. But I'm not sure if I'm going to buy mid-calf ones or full length ones. I'm not sure if that makes a difference with dress styels....that's why y'all are here.

So lemme have it!

Very quick edit: Hubby just told me he bought me these for our anniversary! So let's get to picking out a cute dress!

Since 2nd grade I can count the number of times I've worn a dress on one hand. The older I get the more manly my clothes get LOL.

Seriously shopping for carhartts for my fall wardrobe now.

Meh to dresses, I prefer skirts. Don't know why, just always been my preference. I do like seeing the casual summer dresses on everyone, just not me for some reason, LOL
