The where were you at 19 thread had me thinking... If you could redo things from growing up what would you do? I have tried to talk about some of this with my sisters too.
For me it would definitely be work more and save more in college. I was just not serious about it at that age.
Also I would have gone to a different school and majored in engineering. I went out of state for god knows why when I could have gone in state with my friends for cheaper. I shouldn't have gone where I knew no one. It wasn't the best choice for me and I often wonder how that would have changed my life now (would I be married?)
I think I would have taken a year or two in the 'real world' pre college to get a better idea about money and salary. I did not think much about salary when I picked my major. I picked what I thought people expected of me. And I stuck through a major I hated because of that.
I guess everyone has to make their own mistakes though.
