Hello all,

So when we adopted Cthulhu, we were told he was a mini Schnauzer/Cairn mix. But I've been thinking, and he's twice as big as either of those. To be completely honest, he looks like a miniature Irish Wolfhound, but after some research I found out that there aren't any. So any help would be great. I'm sure he's a mutt, I just don't know what the heck to call him. I've looked into getting him a DNA test, does anyone know if those are accurate? I'm just very interested to know what kind of dog I have, it doesn't matter too much though. I love him regardless.

I'll post some picks later this evening once Erin gets home and can hold him. He doesn't want to sit still for me.

He looks to me like some kind of Border Terrier-y mix, but I don't know much about breeds. Maybe a picture of him standing up (like stacked) would be better for identification purposes? He's cute regardless!

He looks like a border terrier to me too, but they're small as well. Hmm.

Don't waste your money on a DNA test. They aren't very accurate.

I see Border Terrier, too. He could be purebred, just taller than normal. Or his legs just might look longer than they are in the picture. He could also be mixed with something like JRT.

I am on the Border Terrier bandwagon too and wanted to say your dog is so cute.

Thanks for all your help everyone. I really appreciate it. I'm perfectly happy to put this to rest now, and call him a border mix. Oh, I posted some way better pictures in the pictures forum if anyone is interested. There's some cute overload going on.
