Mine is AAA. I'm thinking about switching to another company because I heard that AAA is not the cheapest one out there. With a tight budget, we try to identify the areas that we can save from, and auto issurance is the first one that comes up.

So, what is your auto insurance company & why you chose it? Do you have any suggestions or a good/bad experience with any specific company to share?

GEICO. Perhaps not the cheapest, but the phone and especially WEB support is awesome. They have the best website, IMHO.

I drive a TON (500-1000 miles/week) and only pay $501 for 6 months. Full coverage on my 2004 Vibe.

We are with State Farm and will never go anywhere else.

We pay $235.00 a month for full coverage on two cars (Pontiac GTO and Jeep Rubicon(300/500/300 coverage), renters, life insurance, and we have a $1,000,000 umbrella policy).

I hope if you ever have a claim that Geico treats you better than they did my parents when their car got stolen. :(

I'm with Shelter Insurance. I pay $282 for 6 months of full coverage on my 2001 RAV4. That's going to go up shortly here though because I'm finally cutting the cord and getting my own policy, so I'll lose a couple of discounts. But I'll also have renter's insurance with them, so that should help. And my agent is also my cousin, so he really helps me out with the loopholes. :D (I think I even still have a good student discount even though I've been out of school for over 3 years!)

I use Esurance. Helluva cheap. Are they good about answering claims and such? I don't know. I only drive about four miles a day, so hopefully the odds of being in an accident are low.

I have had great service with Gieco, far cheaper then Allstate and they dont fight when it comes to paying. They havent raised my rates the way Allstate did with any accidents Ive had.

Hmmmm, we have never had our rates raised with Allstate. We have never had an accident, but we have filed other claims like hail damage, broken glass........they cut the check and smiled when they did :D

Well Blue if I had been screwed out of 8k I wouldn't have anything nice to say about a company either!

I do believe a large part of insurance is your personal agent........we LOVE our agent and would NEVER dream of switching until he is retired. He is getting up there so I worry it could be any time now.

He is a wonderful, honest, trustworthy man that plays "fair" LOL

I know people who have had great luck with Allstate. They screwwed me for $8000, it could have been worse.
GEICO= Government Employees Insurance Company ;)

Allstate was awful...I had them for 2 months and had nothing but problems with them. They couldn't get my bills right, their customer service was even worse

I have 21st Century. I pay 81 a month for full coverage on a 01 Jeep I have yet to have any kind of problems with them at all.

Allstate. Ditto what Herschel said. We also had problems collecting from them the, count it, THREE times my parents were rear-ended. Did I mention one of those rear-endings was a school bus that knocked the Expedition 300 feet up a hill? It boggles my mind why they gave us so much trouble.

Mercury here. Not sure how they are with claims because I haven't had one. I pay about $70 a month for an '06 Toyota Matrix. I'm seriously considering switching over to AAA even if it does cost a bit more because I like the fact that if you break down or run out of gas somewhere they actually send help. The other companies will reimburse you for towing etc. but you're pretty much on your own for getting whatever help you need. $70 a month may sound like a lot, but everything costs more in CA and car insurance is no exception.

Same here. We pay $207/month for two new cars, renters and a $1 Million umbrella policy. We have multi-line discounts and they've always gone up to bat for me. They forgave my first and only accident that was my fault and my insurance didn't go up. In fact, the only reason it went up is because we have a brand new prius- imagine those suckers being more to insure than a SUV, lol. Have always been happy with State Farm, in fact, we're getting our life insurance through them as well.

It's funny how I ended up with State Farm. I had a really bad accident that left my car totaled (someone t-boned me) in front of a shopping center. The agent for the office can running out and stayed with me through the entire thing. She at the point told me that I would probably get canceled (I was with Allstate at the time) but if I did to give her a call. Allstate was going to more than double my rates (I was young and living tight) so I couldn't afford that. I called her up -- my rates went down and I've been with State Farm every since. I have changed agents since we moved across town, but the service hasn't changed.

We've had several tow bills and I had a check in hand the next day, my husband was a wreck last Thanksgiving and the lady's insurance company wouldn't pay his medical bills (we are still in litigation over this), and State Farm stepped up and paid them in full with NO questions asked and told me when we did get paid back the money was ours -- we didn't have to pay them back because that is what they were there for and why we paid premiums. The only thing I didn't like is when I got my GTO my insurance went up $16/month (but that of course isn't State Farms fault -- it's my fault for having taste for an expensive/fast car!).

I honestly can't rave enough about State Farm. My husband used to be a former body shop estimator and he says without a doubt State Farm is who you would want fixing your car. They use new parts unless your car is over 2-3 years old where as the other companies don't even offer that it ALWAYS comes from the junk yard or a place that makes replacements. This is a big deal to my husband and I because we always have a car that falls in that range.

Ok -- I'll step off my soap box! :p
