I have only sporadically been visiting this forum now for quite some time, I guess because I've gotten more busy and I began seeking breed specific advice when I was planning on getting my Poodles, so joined an all Poodle forum and just didn't have time to spend on both forums, especially when I chose to get not one Poodle puppy, but TWO! lol.

I use to be very active here and have been a member for a lot of years. In the last while, as I pop in from time to time, I notice at the bottom where it shows who's online, there are usually very few people on the forum. It use to be that there were rows and rows, lines and lines of members listed who were on the forum. And threads were responded to like wild fire. What happened? Any insight? :(

Where did all the mods go like Renee who use to be here?

I noticed the same thing. Used to be so many active posts going on every day that it was hard to keep track of them and some threads would have pages of responses in a few hours. Now you are lucky if you get one response a week if any. Hopefully people come back and it picks back up. Many might have left for FB groups. That is where I do a lot of my chatting now. Though I have been here so long I always come back to check up on everyone.

A lot of people wandered off to Facebook; those who stayed got maybe one or two replies to posts, and eventually gave up. Once in a while, people wander back and try to re-ignite the forum, but then they disappear in a day as well. And come back a month later and wonder what happened again. I've stuck around kind of hoping it would turn back into what it once was, but I think the forum is pretty well gone at this point. A bit sad, but it's a medium for social activity, and it isn't like people can't find that in a score of other places online. This is just one outlet. I still stick my head in once a day or every other day in hopes, but alas.

I'm here every day watching, waiting lol. I think most people went to facebook, but I don't like conversing on facebook as much as on the forum and find it harder to keep track of topics. Plus, my social anxiety is alive and well on the internet so I don't really make friends and can't just chat with other people online. I fail at small talk, even online. So I don't really fit in on the facebook group. I only liked posting in informational or opinion type posts. I used to like training topics and food topics on the forum but over time the popular opinions on those topics changed so that I was in the minority, and I stopped posting so much. Having a less popular opinion on the forum is never fun. Anyway, I'm sad that everyone's left since I don't do well on the facebook group. I learned so much here.

I guess I'm one of the three people who don't have a Facebook account, and I don't 'chat' well online anyway, like Maxy... so, oh well... I do miss Renee's dry sense of humor, I hope she's doing okay.

I find most of my "Chaz" interactions are on FB these days. I do like that it's a bit more secure than an open forum like this.

Sometimes I do miss the forum being active, but I really don't see it going back to what it was.

I can't even get the forum to load 95% of the time. It'll load if I do a search and click but my shortcuts and bookmarks won't load. I'm not the only one, there was a whole thread on it.

The new owners either don't know how to fix that or don't care.

Googling for the forum and then clicking the link is too much effort for a place that has already gone so quiet so I rarely bother.

I've only been here for a little over a year but it has slowed down even since then. I still check it at least a few times a week and I really do like it when people start threads and we post for awhile. I do think facebook is a big part of it. As much as I like actually posting on the forum, it's kind of a PITA to load pictures when I can put a picture from my phone to facebook in 3 seconds.

Like... I don't even think I ever made a thread when I got my ACD, but I put it on the facebook group.

I will say, when I think of something that might be a good thread I go ahead and make one.

I check about once a week. I'm too busy any more between kids and running my grooming salon to be around a lot. I'm in the Chaz Group on facebook, but I don't even post there but once in a blue moon.

I miss everyone, too. <3

The mods come on here and also on the facebook group. It would be nice to start some new conversations and get to know all the new members as well as helping each other out on questions we have.

Same with Beanie (and I now know others); I have not been able to get the forum to load when I try to come here for a couple weeks. Then I finally tried again yesterday, and now today, and have been able to. Before I just kept getting the page mentioning I could not connect to the server (even though everywhere else online I went it was fine).

Facebook for sure is a large part of it too. I don't reaaaally need to come here since I just follow them in the Facebook group, other mutual groups, or plenty are on my friend's list. When I hardly have time for Facebook, I for sure don't have time to play on a forum .... especially using mobile. :p

Yeah... I still pop on here from time to time, but not as much as I use to, and I don't post here all that much. Life has gotten busy, and all of that.

I have problems too on Chaz, so that's whole another reason why I don't come here much. I tend to frequent the Chaz group on FB, and that where I get my Chaz fixing.

I also feel like the same thing is happening to alot of forums, I have noticed a tons of forums have been slowing down, and I noticed some that I use to frequent on, don't even exist anymore.

I still come on here almost every day. It is really saddening how much slower the forum has become. I don't have a FB but maybe I should make one even if just for the Chaz FB page. I miss active Chaz. :/

You definitely should. I find that i really miss seeing pictures/hearing updates of the people who aren't on facebook. Even if I barely know them, I really like hearing about everyone's dogs.
