This is my last one for a while I promise. I just wanted to redo it because I feel like I didn't put what I really need in the last one.

-40-90 pounds.
-Biddable.
-I would really like a dog that has a good off switch.
-No SSA or DA
-I MIGHT do agility, so a dog that can do that would be great but its not mandatory.
-Good with kids and other animals.
-Good with strangers.
-I can tolerate average shedding.
-Grooming would be a brushing 4 times a week.
-I'd really like if it was a common breed but this is also not mandatory.

This is all I can thing about at the moment. Bye! :)

Golden Retriever! :D

They shed a bit more than average, but their hair is also long vs short so it tends to tumbleweed vs get stuck in everything. And if you keep them well groomed (undercoat brushed/blown out) their shedding is more tolerable than, say, a Labrador.

So yes. Golden.

I love Golden Retrievers! They seem like happy family dogs.I always thought they would have too much energy for me. They are cool!
I guess it depends by what energy level you prefer.

A Golden puppy is BUSY. But, so long as you give them appropriate exercise and mental stimulation, they do know how to just relax and chill. The Goldens that you see that are crazy wild tend to be the ones who a.) came from poor breeders and b.) live in a home where they are given no structure and are expected to be a perfect family dog for the kids.

They aren't low energy by any means, but I enioy them and I tend to be pretty lazy. So there is that.

That does sound a lot like the Golden Retriever we had growing up. She was the most amazing dog, and I don't think we even realized it. She was by no means hyper or crazy, and was the most biddable dog ever.

I think if you were exceptionally choosy about breeders you should be able to track one down that fits your criteria exactly.

I know our Golden came from a breeder in British Columbia, and her Mom was an avalanche rescue dog, but that's all I know.
