Rescue, probably mutt, and we'll probably pick individual dog rather than breed.

It's probably an equal three way split that SO will get the bulldog type dog he wants, we'd choose some kind of smallish/medium herding terrier sporter type mix, and we'd end up taking a smaller pit mix/"pocket pit" kind of dog.

Another Aussie. Sometimes I ponder the idea of a Koolie still as they do have a couple of qualities that I like that Aussies do not have, but I think now that Aussies are a better fit in general for me.

Another Miniature Australian Shepherd. Have my breeder picked out and everything, now just to hope that pretty little female I'm looking towards comes out of a litter when it's time. :D

I'd love to have a petite black female Labrador as my next dog. But we'll see what actually happens.

Some kind of rescue mix I would presume.
I hope to foster-to-adopt

but first I've got to find an honest smaller rescue (with foster homes) that I actually like!

Ironically, several people over the last week or so have been saying we should get Addie a friend. I don't really want to, but hubby has been putting out feelers, I think. We would get another Sheltie though, if anything.

She is still a puppy and it just would not be the time.

No idea when it will happen. No real plans because I do not need another dog any time soon.

I have extreme want for a standard poodle (older rescue preferred).

I also have extreme want for a female APBT that I can show in conformation.

The APBT probably won't happen until my oldest passes on. If I happen to find a poodle being rehomed or in a rescue willing to work with me, I'll go from there.

I kind of doubt I'll get anymore dogs. But if I do....a Poodle all the way. After having Matisse and Maurice, I can't see any other breed. They're just so versatile and so quick to pick up on new behaviors...like 2 reps and they've got it. They're so loving and into their family. They seem so empathetic and look so deeply into your soul. They're energetic but have an off switch. Sensitive and endearing. And oh so pretty!

Well...I do love other breeds. But I have fallen in love with toys. I adored my Dobe but I'll never have another. Health, dog reactivity...too big etc. Love that breed though.

And my dear little Chihuahuas...love them too. LOL.

Corgi, ACD, or Malinois or a mix of Corgi or ACD. All dependent on when it happens and where I am in life at that point.

The breed of our next dog is currently being discussed. :p #1 on the list is a koolie, but I don't know if/how that will happen. Other than that me and my husband have completely different ideas on what we want from a dog. He likes more "cat-like" breeds, were i like my clingy herders with the "I loves my people, I do anything for you!" kind of attitude lol :p

At this point the only things we can agree on are:
1. MUST be a puppy. This one is a Talon related issue. He is much more accepting of dogs that grow up as a puppy with him. I feel like he could accept an adult dog, but it would be a lot harder and more work. It's still a possibility if we found the perfect dog, just a lot less likely.

2. It's going to be female. We have two males, a female would be a big preference at this point. Again, Talon could get along with a male, but we both feel we'd have more potential for issues. He seems to prefer his girls over all :p

3. Friendly! This one is our number one goal. After Art who is just neurotic (reactive to new people/dogs/objects -_-) and Talon with his mild dog reactivity, we just want a go everywhere type dog. They are both doing really well with both issues, but we want to sway the outcome in our favor as much as possible by having friendly parents and breeds less predisposed to aggression/reactivity. Of course along with a lot of appropriate socialization and training.

So yeah, breed is up in the air at this point. We are researching ^_^ At this point, whatever breed we chose I just want to have a good plan in place for socialization and have a trainer we are familiar with before we get the puppy.
