What breeds do you want?

i'm not a huge fan of the sheperds (got the scars to show why) my experiences have been 2/3 unstable fear biters. but i would like to give a donovan pinscher a try as hog dog.
With Sam's permission, i use a quote from Scott (Sam's brother) "when you're stupid, your whole body hurts."

i like the lurcher & have heard good things from the brits who use that sort of cross. i'd definitely give him a crack at the local deer & fox.
don't get me wrong, i'll give anything a shot as a hunting dog as long as it's fit to run. i just have preferences. also some folks look at the list as big but i am a huge beleiver in mixed packs being more effective at catching game rather than running a bunch of dogs of the same breed or even type. some of the most effective of the old "houndsmen" ran mixed packs. Ben Lilly, that the houndsmen love to talk up, ran birddogs & airedales in his bear/cat pack. It's funny how they forget that. and the pics in his book shout some leopard spotted dogs in his pack as well. So my list isn't really as big as it looks.

I will always have my team of Siberian Huskies that's for sure, but once I get my place in the country I'm hoping to also add Estrela Mountain Dogs and maybe a Sarplaninec as guardians for the animals. I also really want to get a Jagdt Terrier and some day further down the line I wouldn't mind a Dutch Shepherd, Bull terrier, Dogue Brasileiro or Cao de Fila de San Miguel

I have a huge list but here are a few:

German Shepherd - I hope to always have at least one
Doberman
Rottweiler
Golden Retriever
Jack Russell
Lots of rescued mutts!
Giant Schnauzer
Bernese Mountain Dog
Saint Bernard
Dogue De Bordeaux or Fila - I've met several dogs of both breeds and fell in LOVE! But I'll probably never be able to find either, LOL
Greyhound - Someday I'll have a rescued one

Bernese Mountain Dog
Spinone Italiano
Newfoundland
Eurasier

the berners and spinoni are at the top of my list, but I'd love to own the others someday. If I could rescue all, I would! A Eurasier in rescue is a rarity, though... spinoni also. Not that that's a bad thing!

Someday I would really love to be in a financial situation where I can rescue dogs who have some health issues that require extra care. If not that, I will definitely adopt a senior or two when my life is in the right place.

As far as rescue goes...

I would love to rescue a Pit Bull some day.

I'm sure I will always end up rescuing a Border Collie, BC mix, GSD, or GSD mix. I would also like to rescue a mastiff or boxer type of dog, mix or not.

I would love to rescue a greyhound!

As far as actual breeds go...

Ibizan Hound, LOVE these guys.

Irish Wolfhound, again, LOVE 'EM.

Doberman will probably be my next dog.

Bull Terrier

Cardigan Welsh Corgi

These are dogs that I would MAYBE like. If they just so happened to land in my lap I would not mind!

Akita

Anatolian Shepherd

Mastiff

Toller

And when I'm old and tired, I hope the timing will work out where I'll still have some big dogs that are just as old and tired as I am, plus I would love to get a big old pack of Papillons! But some Paps may make it back into my life between now and then...I can't resist their charm! ;)

I'd love at least one more Tibbie.

A German Shepherd.

A rottie.

An English Bull Terrier

A standard poodle

A Pug.

A Wire haired fox terrier.

A Weimaraner.

A Boxer

A Deerhound

A Staffy

An Akita

A Pittie(But that isn't an option here)

A Borzoi

A Giant Schnauzer

A Rhodesian Ridgeback

A Boston Terrier

Also I think it would be great if I could get a dog from a shelter.
