What breeds do you see at your local Petsmart?

I go to one in another town (happens to be in a high income area) and there is a BIG difference compared to the one in the other town (middle income, "average" people area). I go to the on in the "Ritzy" town (tons of Drs, Lawyers, CEOs) since it is closer.

These are the top 5 breeds I see the most of:
1. Dachshunds, mostly reds, have never seen a wirehaired.
2. Chihuahuas, mostly really tiny.
3. Shih tzus and Bichons and other Small White Fluffies.
4. English Bulldogs
5. Dobermen
4. Boxers
5. Dobermen.

I've also seen:
Irish Wolfhounds X2 (both owned by the same family)
Basset Hounds X2 (both owned by the same woman)
A Rough Collie in daycare
A Siberian Husky in daycare
A Klee Klie (spelling?)
A couple of Goldens in daycare.

Plus assorted mixes.

I'm at a Petsmart for 6 hours every Saturday volunteering for a rescue, so I get to see a lot of dogs come in and out. I mainly see Labs and Goldens, with GSD's and huskies coming in as a close third and fourth. There are also quite a few small and fluffy dogs that come in (havanese, shih tzus, lhasas, bichons, etc.). Other breeds we see quite often are GSP's, chihuahuas, schnauzers of all sizes, ACD's, English Bulldogs, and dachshunds (I actually saw my very first wirehaired one there today). Surprisingly they do not get in a lot of mutts. The #1 breed we see there most often though, are labs. I saw at least 15 today, and they are all overweight and out of control.

Pit bulls, pit bulls, and more pit bulls. All pit bulls. I once declared to a college roommate that most dogs locally were pit bull types, followed by an incredibly geeky tally of every dog we saw for a week. Our total was something like 80% pits, 10% chihuahuas, and 10% anything else.

Daycare is another story entirely. That's where I get to see all the Danes, Swiss mountain dogs, Havanese, Pharoah hounds, a Stabyhoun, and Bo Derek's Irish wolfhound.

This is from purely a daycare/boarding point of view since that's where I work. For small dogs we see a large number of dachshunds, havanese, and shih-tzus. LOTS of pugs and french bulldogs (the the Frenchies are usually in with big dogs). Plus there's a good number of little doodles...schnnodles, cockapoos, maltipoos, mini-goldendoodles, etc. There are very few generic (not designer) mutts in small dog. We have lots of regulars of other breeds but not large numbers of each breed.

Bigger dogs are labs, goldens, boxers, and German shepherds mainly. There is also a fair number of huskies and great danes. But we also just have a ton of mutts...lab mixes, hounds mixes, shar pei mixes, those brown mixes that you can't pin a breed down on no matter how hard you try, spaniel mixes, herder mixes (lots of cattle dog mixes). All sorts of mutts and they are usually the majority in camp unless we have a lot of labs that day.

In boarding we see a decent number of pit bulls as well.

Pit bulls and small mutts, with an occasional husky.

Bullies. Lots and lots of bullies. Fat, medium sized standard red or Black and Tan dachshunds (never seen a long, wire, true mini or fit one). Chi and chi mixes. Doodles galore. Great Danes. Hound mixes. Beagles. Toy and Mini poodles, with various other "poos". Shih Tzus. Lots of labs and goldens.

Lots of bullies and bully mixes, labs and lab mixes. I feel like I see the same 4 standard poodles all the time, and 1 aussie puppy. Daycare is totally different- there's a huge variety there.

Huskies and labs galore. Then small breed mixes. and a fair amount of border collie or cattle dog mixes.

I would say a majority of all the dogs I see around here are overweight. And more often than not the labs are out of control.

Petsmart and Jack's another chain here, have started a program with the local shelter here and every weekend they some type of adoption event.

Prior to I would say it was 25 or 30% bully types now it's around 50%.

I do like the program since it lowers the amount of puppy mill dogs.

Stepping out of the salon, there are a lot of pit bulls. Labs and GSDs (mixes and pure), too. There are little dogs in carts, sometimes walking. Tons and tons of Shih Tzus, but a large chunk of them are headed back to the salon. We get quite a variety of breeds in the salon, but that's mostly what I see in the actual store.

Walking around Petsmart lately:

Australian Shepherds. So many.
Boxers.
Labradors.
Great Dane.
Dachshunds.
Beagles.
Assortment of unidentifiable mixes.

I've been in the store a couple times lately after a long hiatus and that's all I remember seeing.

We get all kinds at this Petsmart... if I had to name a top 5 though, it's Labs, Goldens, Huskies, GSDs, and various breeds of smallwhitefluffies. I live and go to a Petsmart in a relatively high-income city.

Often there are some kind of smallish~medium dog mixes though. The rarest breeds I've seen are a Borzoi and a very well-groomed Kerry Blue Terrier (I'm surprised I recognized the breed upon sight LOL).
