Just curious.

My first dog was a half GSD and we're pretty sure half golden retriever named Shack. He's the reason I love dogs the way I do now. He and I were best buddies growing up.

An Akita x GSD named Ananda. I didn't have dogs growing up at all, so this was the first dog we adopted after my husband and I got married. He was only with us for a year and died tragically in an accident that could have been avoided if I knew then what I know now about teaching recall. You'd also think that that breed mix would be a very difficult dog indeed, but in actual fact he was extremely friendly, a total love, very forgiving, very goofy, not at all aloof. He favored his GSD side over his akita side.

I don't have any digital pictures of him but as gorgeous as you'd think that mix would be, up that by 300% and that's what he looked like. His loss was devestating.

The first dog my family ever owned was a Rottweiler named Sabi:

The very first dog that I called my own though was a mini Dachshund named Jesse:

^ She and I were inseparable and did absolutely everything together for 10 years.

My first dog was an English Springer Spaniel named Lacey. I was only one when we got her so we pretty much grew up together.

This photo was taken just a week or so before she died, at 15 years old. God, I still cry every time I think about her. She was an amazing dog, just so super sweet and patient. Towards the end she had such terrible arthritis that my parents talked about putting her to sleep, but every time they brought it up with me I would just cry my eyes out. So a couple weeks later she passed away quietly in her sleep. And I'll always miss her.:(

My first dog was an Irish Setter/Newfoundland cross, he looked like a big red Newf. My parents got him shortly after I was born and we grew up together. He was an amazing boy and I credit him for my passion with giant breeds. I wish I had a pic to post of him, he was beautiful but I don't have any that have survived over the years.

My first dog was Kai. Well, needless to say I fell in love with the breed and adopted another Sheltie a year later... and now I'm searching for a breeder to get my foundation bitch from. :)

I am not completely sure. I was born into a family with 4 dogs. 2 were GSDs 1 was a cockapoo and the last was Bozo a coyote/GSD (and the ultimate sneaky biter!) One of the GSDs was an amazing, amazing dog named Spartacus (the first of two Spartacus'es we had.)

Max was my first and so far only dog. He was a Shar-Pei mix (possibly with great dane). He was great dog, we got him when I was four so we grew up together. Life just has not been the same the last 7 months :(

A fine little black Scottish Terrier named Bouncing Bess, called Bessie. I was ten when we got her and had wanted a dog forever....

I don't have any pictures of her scanned into the computer, but we had a lab/Dobe mix named Meisha. She was more my mother's dog though, so my first "real" dog is Sawyer. :)
