We've got a couple we love!

Green squishy is awesome for heel work, but it is a little big for a puny Cattle Dog. http://www.hightrialk9.com/products/ball-on-a-rope-toys

Double handled bunny tug is good for sequencing, wraps around poles, shadow handling, rally class, ect. Areas where you need to be able to hide a toy easily. Ours is starting to get destroyed though, so I wouldn't say they hold up super well to intense tuggers. http://www.cleanrun.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=445

Moo tug is great if you want a throwing toy, so like doing jump sends or recalls/fronts where she gets sent through my legs. http://www.cleanrun.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=3016

We also use discs to tug on and I've made a few fleece ones that Iggy likes more than most of the legit toys.

Hank has loved most his favorites to death.

My favorite tug I borrowed at flyball and I have no idea where they got it. It was like 3/4' long with fur and fleece.

He has a udder tug but ate the rope and handle. He loves it though.

He likes this one too but not sure how well it'll hold up.

And this one is another fave:

And this one:

I also have a home made braided fleece with chuckit ball on the end he likes.

And now I'm tug shopping again HAHA. I have a problem.

This Kong Tugger Knots Moose is BY FAR Leo's favorite tug toy. I think he really likes the feel of the fur over rope in his mouth while tugging, but the rope underneath gives the toy a lot of resilience. It has held up to him really really well. Super durable. We've had it for a long time now, and it is still in perfect condition.

My general use tugs are milking inflations because I get them for free by the box load from my brother in law who works in the dairy industry. They don't last long, maybe a couple of sessions. They can also be slippery.

I occasionally win polar fleece tugs at rally or agility and they last all of 5 minutes against Kep. I try and save some for Gael as she loves tug but in a less destructive way. She has a nice fat fleece tug which is also a lead that we use at agility shows.

Kep has a Puller which works really well for him as he flies in super fast and grabs his tug and I can keep him on the other side from my hands. He can also prance about with it over his head before coming back and doing a head flick for me to grab the other side again. I'm pretty sure he would destroy it given half a chance but as an interactive toy it has lasted well for a few months so far.

Well Toast's favorite tug is his leather leash, but I try to discourage that unless the only other option in the moment is my butt or arm.

I agree about the green squishy ball and I've loved every tug I've gotten from clean run (either fleece or fur).

The Jolly Ball that comes on a rope is also popular around here. This one: http://www.jollypets.com/products/romp-n-roll/

And I love LOVE my Tuffie shark. It's long enough that he can grab it in the middle and I can grab each end, and it's held up well. I have two, Maisy managed to destuff one but it is still great for tugging. http://www.tuffietoys.com/page/398229288

We have several rope tugs of different sizes. They are all old and wouldn't know the names/brands of them. I need to get a new bigger one for Nola, all the big ones were destroyed by Gunnar and Daisy over the years.

Our favourites are from Salty Dog Canvas and Z-Control.

Salty Dog just makes some really good quality, durable options. I like the tugs with sheep shearling. I also used to get toys all the time from them because I lived about a half hour down the road from them and didn't have to pay for shipping. :)

Z-Control has some really awesome real fur options. I bought a raccoon fur water bottle tug for Kili for demos. She normally isn't allowed toys with real fur, but I wanted something extra special and doggy crack like for the high arousal atmosphere of demos. We'll see how well it works at our first show, but the one or two times I showed it to her at home she went absolutely bonkers.

We just got a bite pillow for Nola, it's a soft jute covered thing with 3 handles on it. Not a toy for leaving around, more of a training aid. She went nuts for it yesterday.

Recon loves inflation tubes from dairy milking (I think all of that is right? lol) and Patton loves his Bite disc from Latitude 64!

Tug toys by DJetzel, on Flickr

Recon's tug toy has been around for about 2 and a half years now and it's still going strong. Patton's only had his bite discs since June, but they have proven to be the toughest discs we've ever used. They are my go to for roller/tug training because no dog is going to put a hole in them, I have decided! lol
