This is a spin-off from MissAshby's business reputation thread. What companies are you currently boycotting?

My list:
*Lindt: supports Autism Speaks
*CafePress: supports Autism Speaks
*Kindle (but not the whole of Amazon): not accessible to people with print disabilities, even though the technology is built-in
*Hills: well, because they're Hills lol. But also they never answered my questions about their foods
*Sitstay.com: pro-SD-faking
*Activedogs.com: issues with their SD program, PM me if you want more details

I'm sure there are others that I'm not thinking of right now.

So I have to ask - what is so bad about Autism Speaks? I thought they supported people with autism as well as families where children are autistic.

Wells Fargo Banks---I've boycotted them for nearly 10 years. That bank screwed me out of nearly $300 of my hard-earned money. They put a freeze on my bank account, without telling me, because of THEIR error...and they admitted it was their error....yet refused to pay the returned check fees for the bounced checks that resulted.

Animal Planet---Boycotted them ever since Whale Wars came out. I refuse to watch a network that condones ecoterrorism.

Wachovia bank which I think was bought by wells Fargo. It's because of them that I ended up bank black listed. I tried to close down my bank account when I was moving from VA to NM and they said everything closed fine and they told me there were no pending transactions to worry about. Apparently they didn't actually close the account but gave me the rest of the money from the account. Next thing I know a pending transaction for a through putting the account in the negatives. I had already moved and hadn't given them a forwarding address because I was told the account was closed so after failed attempts to reach me they blacklisted me.

Any petstore that sells dogs or cats

Can't remember if there's more or not right offhand.

I don't think I'm actively boycotting anything. There are products I won't buy and charities I won't donate, to, but I wouldn't call that a "boycott".

I dunno if its boycotting, I'm not like our picketting and I don't like..tell others not to use them (other than crocs lol) but yea, I don't use/avoid their products.

- Crocs: because they are horrid and people wear them in public and make me ashamed to be part of the human race lol

- All chain restaurants (cheesecake factory, chilis, macoronni grill, etc...) The food is never very good (usually frozen, deep fried, etc..), the portions are HUGE, calories ridiculous.. I just don't see the point frankly.

- Cosmetic companies that test on animals (L'oreal, Mary kay, Maybelliene)

- Barnes & Nobles, Borders, Amazon etc.. for print books, smaller bookstores are much nicer and the prices at the bigger retailers are RIDICULOUS anyway lol

I just want to point out that Australians feel the same way about Uggs as many here do about crocs.

I figure if they are good enough for a lot of celebrity/fashion icons they are good enough for me (and they are cheap, comfortable and long wearing)

And I'm with Eddie and Sparks. When I think "boycott," I think actively protesting. There are places I won't shop at and charities I won't donate to, but there's nothing I actively boycott.
