alright so I have decided to use a harness to walk my dog instead of just her collar since she would get over excited pull on her hind legs and i was afraid of her slipping her collar or hurting her neck but now i have a new issue the harness is wonderfull dont get me wrong she barelly pulls with it on only when we come out of the house but she has a problem when she decides to grab onto the leash and play tug she knows the command drop but will not do it she is a few weeks away from being a year old so shes pretty strong and I only weigh about a hundred pounds you get the idea she tugs when i say drop she dosent i try and pry it from her mouth she growls and jumps all over me i try and block her and it only gets worse she will keep going with the growling and snarling im afraid im only 17 and sometimes it's hard to keep her under control i take her for at least one walk every day sometimes two so i dont understand why she is behaving this way.please help.

what i would do would be to stop walking as soon as she grabs the leash and get her to sit. wait till she drops it or tell her to drop it if you think it will work when she's stopped. if she won't sdrop it at all i would go back to doing some onleash training inside your yard, workign on it in a less exciting area.

once she drops it lots of praise and treats. she'll soon figure out she doesnt get to keep walking if she grabs the leash so its not worth it.

thats my advice. someone else may have better stuff

It sounds like you have indirectly turned it into a game for her so simply stop playing the game. When she grabs up the leash, stop walking and look up at the sky or a tree, or anything except her. Let her fight the leash and just ignore her. When she stops praise her (I would avoid treats so she doesnt start expecting them) and continue walking. This may talk a little bit of time before she catches on because she has ""won"" in getting you to play so many times before so she may be persistant.

BTW just because you are 17 and only weigh 100Lbs doesnt mean you cant control a Husky ;) I got OC when I was 14 years old and started dogsledding with Huskies when I was 15 years old. It can be done you just gotta keep your wits about you and know what you are doing.
