Frontline did jackall to combat fleas this summer, so I'm trying this stuff. So far it seems to work and it hasn't left their coats all gooky like the Frontline did. It also protects against ticks and mosquitos and touts itself as being water-proof/bathing resistant.

Has anyone else used it? Heard of it?

I have used this all summer--we have lots of ticks around here--didn't find a single one on my crew. I was very pleased with this.

I'm just beyond pleased that the dogs have stopped scratching. Well, Sawyer anyway. Virgo's got a bit of dry skin from her last bath and is still itchy.

Yea... I've used it once or twice. It's *supposed* to be the generic to K9 Advantix. But put it on the dogs, and a week and a half later there were still fleas.

I can attest to the Frontline. Had a flea infestation on my 2 dogs and my cat and they were flea free in a week! Love the stuff.

Youbetcha, do you ever actually read the threads you post in? This is one of many posts of yours I have read that have almost nothing to do with the actual subject matter.

Zoomy... is it sold at big box stores, or just little ones?

Ya know what works great for dog dry-skin itch? Ferret conditioner!!

Seriously ... wet Virgo down and massage ferret conditioner into the coat down to the skin, let it sit for a while and then rinse. Another thing that works is LeKair Cholesterol conditioner ... either the peachy-pink one or the green colored one with aloe. The second product is actually made for humans but it's a safe, effective and very gentle conditioner. (I use it on my own past-waist length hair, works great!)

Tried both on Cheyenne when she had dry-skin itch from an especially dry and cold winter ... either worked well. Ferret conditioner is at any pet supply store, LeKair cholesterol conditioner can usually be found in most stores but in the African-American hair care sections. A bonus is that LeKair is very inexpensive!

(Tip for other long-haired girls: Use products designed for African-textured hair .... much more moisturizing and prevent breakage too!)

I'm having the same problem with FrontLine not being effective. I have to have a product that I can buy in bulk...is it only available at the vet's office?

I've talked to a lot of people who aren't having good results with either the Frontline or Frontline Plus this year. It's always worked well in the past, but hasn't been effective this year. The vet even said that has been their experience this year, but that the Advantix+ has worked well.

My vet got it about a year ago and we were having such a problem with ticks and fleas that we tried it since it was new and the fleas wouldn't be immune to it like the Frontline.

It worked well. We haven't tried it again, though, since we started Advantix.
