Specifics are sketchy at this time, will update when I know more:

Female pit bull, less than one year old, was left alone in her apartment by her "family" a week ago. They moved to a new place which did not allow pets so they just LEFT HER all alone for a week. She may be DA.

A friend of mine is going to take her in on a very temporary basis. Said friend has a very dog aggressive, very large, male Greyhound, and has no bully experience, so this is just a temporary foster. There is a good chance she will have to live outside during this time.

If anyone knows anyone who may be able to help please contact me. I'm willing to evaluate myself, and pay for a second evaluation (I always feel better when a dog is evaled at least twice), prior to transport. I can also help with transport if it is somewhat local.

What part of MA are you in?

As for rescues, I made some calls, and there is: PittieLove (Framingham), and BraveHeart (Lakeville).

There might be a few others, these are just the ones my contacts know of...BraveHeart sounds awesome, was recommended to me by three seperate people, all who had great experiences with them. They're big on rescuing and rehoming, as well as a lot of stuff with educating. None of the contacts had any experience with PittieLove, just knew about it...

If you'd like contact info, just send me a PM, and I'll send it to you.

I wish my dad was not anti-pit bull! She is the right age for a dog (if we get one) that we want. She is probably the right size too. We would not be getting a dog until July if we got one though...that would probably be too late. I hope she finds a home soon!

I have worked with PittieLove in the past so I am very familiar with them :) They were nice enough to do the eval for my friend, and they are helping right now with funding boarding for her someplace, but they have no room and they do not take on DA dogs. I'll ask her if she's tried out braveheart.

Here is Allie's picture.

Do you know for sure if she's DA or not?

I will quote my friend for you. Of course I would prefer it if I had evaluated the dog myself, but what can you do:
Allie didn't bark at the dog in the car sniffing through the window. We tried walking her down the street w/ the puppy a little, and at first she did not react. But then at one point she did bark aggressively at the puppy, so I didn't let them sniff too close. At the vet's office she barked at other dogs.

We do have stuff into PBRC, thank you. The local pit bull rescue has helped us as much as they could, but unfortunately with no room and Allie being DA her time is up :(
