Twice in the last couple days my PC has flagged Chaz as unsafe- saying there are files here that will divulge personal info etc. Has anyone else seen this?

I got this once at school using IE yesterday, and once last night with Chrome. There is another thread on it somewhere...

I've gotten it a couple of times as well. I think the explanation from the other thread is that there is a messed up script somewhere that is triggering the warnings, even though it shouldn't.

actually I've been getting some kind of thing (altho I didn't get it today), saying my Norton, removed something called bloodhound.gen? when I check out the specs, it's a virus, it popped up 2-3 times when I'd come on this site, but as I said, hasn't happened today.

That is exactly what my Norton said at work and my Superantispyware said on my home laptop.

It hasn't happened today either. Hopefully meaty can work this out.

I just got the warning from my antivirus. Seems as though bot scripts have been installed on Chaz by a hacker. This means virii are probably downloading to all your computers right now... and generally, these virii are easily hidden from good AV programs.

This needs to be fixed ASAP.

I mentioned this on the other thread but something similar happened on my other forum and it was related to one of the randomly generated google ads. Hopefully MT or someone can see if the ads being run are safe...

bloodhound.gen, which seems to be coming from Chaz according to my AV program (though I'm not 100% sure) can cause serious havoc amongst Adobe programs specifically, namely Acrobat.

Really? I'm getting the warning, but I don't use Adobe all that often, and don't have any pdf's so I wouldn't have had a reason to. I'm running McAfee right now, how can I check my computer?

Hmm what can I run to get rid of it... Because I don't think spybot S&D will do it and for whatever reason my existing AV isn't catching it. I'll ask my dad this weekend.

You can run a scan, especially of anything in your browser folders. I'm being told that a lot of the viruses used by these bot scripts are still undetectable by many antivirus programs. :(

(A few friends of mine who work in the antivirus sector over in San Fran have been giving me this info, since this bot script fiasco is at the top of their to-do lists at work lately.)

Yeah I run avast as well, and it picked up a number of rookits and trojans from here. Lots of tracking cookies too, but those are mostly from the ads.
