BOY NAMES

brooklyn- brook, stream- english- unisex

elijah- the Lord is MY God- hebrew- boy

isaiah- salavation by God- hebrew- boy

GIRL NAMES
champagne- ??sparkling wine??- ??french??- girl /// or pepsi- ??soft drink??- american

alize- joyful- hebrew- girl

mercedes- merciful- spanish- girl

what ya think of these for future baby names? i know the girl has some branding (car and beverages) names, but it does not mean i want her to be a stripper or picked on in class b/c i choose those names. but hey it could of been worst. its not something like lowquesha (or some other of those ghetto names), hopper jack, pilot inspektor, prada, tu morrow (yes pronounced tomorrow), apple, pepsi (still undecided about this name) or frito (yes those are actually baby names) and celebrities come up with even wackier baby names. actually i like the name pepsi for a girl too, but can't finger myself saying pepsi can you get me a pepsi please? or her going to buger king and beinging asked would you like coke or pepsi? but it's the same as if her name would be champagne. so i dunno about that, lets just see what the future brings. i doubt the baby's dad would agree with his lil'girl beinging named pepsi though lol. as long its something not plain, something kinda unique i guess, but not ghetto. and as for ''stripperish'', hey its nots peaches, cinnamon, strawberry. mercedes is actually an old spanish name for a girl meaning merciful. actually I think the whole mercedes-benz car was named after a daugther, i believe. as for champagne and alize. i think they're really sweet-natured names. sure beverages and what some strippers choose to be their names, but what can you do? alize actually means joyful in hebrew, so how bad can the name be? champagne for me is like my lil' sparkling jewel. i can't see a girl named champagne be nothing but sweet and kind. not everyone named champagne is destined to be on a pole. the kid is gonna be alright by the time she'll be in school. all her classmates are probably gonna be stuck wit some bizzard name too with this generation naming their kids. as for getting a good job and getting in a good college, i really don't think people are going to be that bias, they've probably heard it all by then. hey at least the name won't be ending in ''sha''!! well i could write an book on my freedom to name my baby whatever i want, but lemme just stop here lolz just let ma ''obsurb'' baby naming self alone lolz, i like them, why should i care what others don't like, right?

here's some celebrity baby names.....

side note: i'm not expecting, just watching vh1 and its just something that popped up in my head. the final first name decision is up to the dad. if the dad likes all, we'll stick with all the names (if we have one boy & one girl). one of course beinging the first and the others middle names. or we could have six kids, which unless i'm having them all at the the same, or different sets of twins, not gonna happen. trying to keep baby making under 2 kids (one boy & one girl) but in the end its up to God how many kids I'm having and what gender they'll turn out to be.

I like unique names that have meaning behind them. Having an odd name myself I think it gives people a type of diversity than only a name can give as well. There are plenty of studies done that show that a lot of the time name affects personality. I see this all the time, I have friends with the same name that have similar qualities. I know people that don't know each other and they are very similar.

boy name : Calix (most handsome in Greek)

Girl name : Aria (italian/latin ( i can't remember! MY BAD) for rhythm, (that's what my name means to)

I like names that not every other person on the street has. But I wouldnt go as far as some of those celebrities

Of the names you chose I like Brooklyn for a girl, and the name mercedes for a girl.

I have a really hard time finding boys names that I like, cuz if I have a boy I don't really want him growing up with a girl in his class with the same name. And most boy names make even cuter girl names. And the only 'boy' names every body names their kids.

But I absolutely love thinking and talking about names.

Well, I do like unique baby names...BUT as cute it is, parents tend to forget that the little one has to live with the name for the rest of his/her life.
I mean, I don't see how Fifi Trixibelle or whatever is a good name for a baby...but it sure ain't so sweet anymore when you're 25 and people call you like that!
The celebrity baby names are just ridiculous.

I won't post all the boys and girls names I like. I'll spare you! :)
I already have my boy and girl names picked, so no worries for me.
From the names you listed I liked Isaiah (boy) and instead of Champagne for a girl, what about Jewel? Elijah is ok but it makes me think of Amish kids. Mercedes brings the car to mind as well as a skinny black girl I knew in school. She was sweet, sassy sometimes and pretty easy to get along with.

Mine are going to have relatively normal names, but the meaning behind the names are why I picked them.

Boy - Christopher Michael ("bearing Christ" and "like the Lord" *arcangel*)
Colt Anthony ("from the dark tower" OR Colt .45 and "worthy of praise")

Girl - Rachel Anne (last name "favoured by God")
Aidan Renee' (means "little fiery one" and "queen")

With the exception of "Champagne" I like all those names you posted.

I want to name my boy Sebastian and I'm not sure about the girl. Probably something equally as 'old' like Marian or something.

I like Sebastian. It reminds me of 'The Never Ending Story'.

Dean reminds me of 'James Dean' a rebel without a cause. :) Or Dean Cain, Superman.

I love the name Elijah. I like how it looks and how it sounds... To me, names have to have meaning, they can't be dumb. It amazes me what some people name their kids. One name I like though is Nevaeh...some rockstar named his daughter that, because it's Heaven spelled backwards. I like how it sounds and looks. The Heaven part don't hurt either.

My kids are going to be made fun of so bad lol.
I thought you didn't want kids? ;)

I like unique names, but lots just sounds awful. A unique pretty name is nice though. For us, it will be pretty standard names though :p

I wonder if you could work out a marketing deal with a corporation if you named your kid Pepsi or Apple? And if that deal would be revoked if the kid, say, shot up his high school or mugged a crippled deaf-mute?

Just thinking. I'd rather smother a child than name it after a brand name, but that's just me.

Well, that's a little extreme...smothering...but you probably could work out a deal with the company if they wanted to spend the extra money on your kid advertising (with clothing, vehicles, bikes, etc).

What if the best deal came from a a beermaker? Big tobacco could use a PR redo, maybe you could name a kid Marlboro or Camel.

I can think of brands it wouldn't be too hard to work into your kid's life. Slim Jim, Little Debby.

On the other hand, would branding your kid have long-term consequences you didn't forsee? What if CitiBank merged with Bank of America (for all I know, they've already done that) and your kid suddenly has a new name? "Hey, Citi...I mean, BanAm, get over here and finish your cereal!"

Well, unique is one thing and wierd is another LOL. For both our girls, we chose names that are less common but nothing freaky like the celebrity names you posted.

One thing that drives me nuts (no offense to anyone) is wierd spellings for names--as a parent of a Kindergarten student, it makes it hard to address invitations!!! LOL.
