The last two or so weeks, all my joints have hurt, ankles, knees, elbows, shoulders, wrists, like non-stop; especially when I sneeze. I don't know what's wrong. Advil and Tylenol and Excedrin back and body aren't helping any more. I don't have any medical insurance any more because I'm between jobs, and I just feel like crap. I hate waking up because I know eventually I will have to move, which hurts. :(

Sorry, I'm just ranting. I know there's nothing anyone can do about it, but it feels better to get it up in the air.

stress can wreck havoc on your body. YOu might be building up toxins in your joints. Try upping your vitimin c....hot soaks in the tub will help too. I have chronic pain, when it is really bad i make myself go walk. IT takes longer then just around the block too but if i go about a mile i can feel my hips start to swing more freely and my spine loosen up, all of me feels better plus the vit d i soak up from the sun boosts my immune system. All of me feels better after that. Try avoiding plants that belong to the nightshade family as well..potatoes eggplants, tomatos too, all will increase the pain you already have.

That won't help the pain in your joints, but I can sympathize with feeling achy.

Thanks, AC. Mom's worrying about me now, which upsets me. She says I'm too young for aurthritis, I'd love to agree, but I know its possible. My sister and brother in law offered to pay the doctor bill, so I have an appointment Monday. I'm scared... I hate the doctor, especially when I'm going for a reason.

Lots of CLEAN water, too, Cinder.

You know that allergies can cause joint pain? You might try scoring some raw honey that's been produced locally and make it a practice to eat a tablespoon or so every day.

Renee,
This is probably going to sound ridiculous, but I'm allergic to bees, which we've known since I was a tiny baby. I've never had honey, mom says I'm probably allergic to it. Is that really the case or just an old wives tale?

Having an allergic reaction to being stung doesn't usually have anything at all to do with whether or not you're allergic to honey. You might consider trying a little bit and seeing if you have any reaction. Honey is one of those foods that is loaded with stuff that's good for you - if it's raw - and when you get honey that's produced locally, it will help build up your tolerance to local pollens. I've seen so many people get over their seasonal allergies that way, even after all the allergists and shots have failed miserably.

Oh, and cat's claw (an herb) is also good for joint pain, among other things. It's also known as Una de Gato.

We have a sprout's farmer's market right by us, I'll check there and see if they've got any. There's also a honey farm right around here some where, but mom's always kept me far away from it. lol

He's allergic to them too

If we planned to have kids of our own, they'd be screwed when it came to bees.

I'll send daddy or the neighbor. That way its safe. :)

Aching in all the joints sounds like you may have rheumatoid arthritis. I was diagnosed with this several years ago. Classic symptoms are pain and inflammation in the hands, wrists, shoulders but it can show up in any joint (and does - I've had all my joints hurt at one point or another). And it can show up at ANY age. There's a juvenile type of RA too that is seen in very young kids.

If you look at the backs of your hands, is there swelling/puffiness around the knuckle joints?

You may need to ask your doctor specifically about testing your rheumatoid factor (RF) and for inflammation (I think that's a CRT, but it's been awhile since I've had it done so that could be wrong). They're both done through a blood test.

There are a lot of medications available if that is what it ends up being. Some are inexpensive, some are outrageously expensive. If you have a fairly low income, there are some programs through various manufacturers where you can get some medications at little or no cost and it's worth looking into if you need to.

On the honey: I'm very allergic to bee stings but I don't have any problems with honey. I don't think there's any connection. Different parts of the bee!

Good luck -

If it is rheumatoid, or something similar, I've seen some very nearly unbelievable results from using Cat's Claw (Una de Gato). I know one guy who was having to take half a dozen hydrocodones some nights, just to sleep for more than two hours. After a week of using Cat's Claw he told me he was sleeping through the night and waking up without any pain, for the first time in over five years.

We're heading to the outdoor farmer's market this weekend to see what we can find in the way of honey and cats claw, permitting I can get out of bed. It just seems to be getting worse the longer I go.

Cat's Claw you will probably have to get from a health food or herb shop. It's a bark from a vine found in South America.

Hope you get some relief soon . . . and CHEAPLY! I know you're in a bind as far as not having insurance goes right now :(

You might want to think about NOT getting anything diagnosed until you've got another job and the insurance has kicked in. If you have something diagnosed before then, it's a pre-existing condition and it usually won't be covered for at least a year.

The Juniper House (an herb shop) is on its way home from the farmer's market. If we don't find some there, we'll stop and get some. We may stop there any way. JH is one of my favorite places in the world, its owned by an Asian couple that I absolutely love. :D

They might have some good suggestions for you too! I'd love to have a resource like that here.

I have a friend who has an herb shop who is pretty knowledgeable, but the woman who runs the health food store, can be, quite frankly, kind of a bitch, lol.

LMAO
One of the family owned health stores down here is that way, I refuse to shop there because the woman treats everyone like they're the stupidest person to ever walk the planet.

I love having JH here. Its like six blocks away, literally. I was thinking about walking up there, but again... Convincing myself to get out of bed is pretty hard. My computer desk is close enough to the bed that I can use it from there (Aaron's idea)
