I did post these on FB awhile back but I thought these were pretty illustrative of two types of ES, so I thought I'd cross post them on Chaz!

This is Quinn and her buddy Sookie. I "met" Sookie's owner through facebook a couple of years ago but this spring I started with her herding instructor and we finally met face to face - and became fast friends. Both Q and Sookie are double registered English Shepherds - just two very different types! They are interesting to compare as they are only a couple of months apart and were raised in a very similar environment. Sookie is such an awesome dog, she is so peaceful and easygoing and very innately GOOD.

These were a little impromptu - I definitely want to retake them without all of Quinn's gear on! And groom her beforehand too - she's looking a little rough!

That's very cool looking Charlotte! I love the difference in head shape especially, it's very dramatic.

So cool you have an ES friend you can get together with! They look good together too.

Gorgeous girls! Quinn is just the prettiest... can we get more photos, PLEASE? ;)

Also, I'd really still like to get in contact with Mary and talk to her about the breed and meeting her dogs. 20 minutes away! Too great of an opportunity not to take.

Wow- they're both gorgeous, but you can definitely tell how different they look from each other!

That is SO cool how Quinn has an ES friend around the same age!

While they are both so different, they're both equally as pretty as one another. Just in different ways. So neat to see them together. :)

Thanks everyone! They're a good team. Sookie's owner actually contacted Quinn's breeder about her litter before it was on the ground, but there ended up being too few puppies for reserved spots! She did follow the litter updates though and even remembered Quinn's litter name.

Terri - Sookie is bred by the Heidtmans. Not sure of her exact pedigree but I believe many Beebe and Mohn dogs.

Grace - DO IT! And report back to me with videos, pictures and an essay ;) She has such lovely dogs.

Wow they are gorgeous!! Nice to see Quinn again, and Sooke is very pretty as well. I love the smooth stop and yellow eyes.

Do you see any ES with prick ears?

Thanks Xandra! Sookie's eyes are very intense.

Ears vary quite a bit in the breed (another big difference between Quinn and Sookie - Sookie has the most perfect button ears) but prick ears are pretty uncommon. They do pop up - no pun intended, on occasion though. My hopefully future puppy mama is actually prick eared!
