Oh the word of trying to work with my two dogs at the same time.

Usually Duncan does a down-stay while I work with Cameron (this is pretty new and has been going well and I feel like there's been a decline in food related conflicts because of it) but today Cameron figured out that Duncan won't stop her she jogs over and gobbles his treat before he does.

So what do I do?

I don't have a ton of space to work with but I can increase the distance between them so that it takes her longer to get there and buys me time. Should I click and treat if she watches him take it without moving towards him? Or click treat for staying focused on me? Or should I not click because I've been training and clicking to shape something else? Should I end the session if she steals?

Haha, sorry for my noob questions.

In the end I want dog harmony over anything.

Can you body block her in time? Or maybe have her wearing a leash so you can prevent her from going over there. Tucker's learned not to take the food I toss the cats by doing two things. One is body blocking as soon as he makes a move towards them and the other is practicing taking turns. Have everyone sitting in front of me then put treats down in front of each one in turn. Willie gets one, then Tucker, then Neko, then Tucker again. If he tries to go for a cat's treat I block him and give a verbal "eh-eh".
He's learned by waiting he'll get his treat, if he tries to steal he will fail.

You could also try to teach Duncan to catch treats better.

I <3 dogs who catch treats.

With my two, I say a dog's name before I present the treat/reward so they know who its intended for before it appears. Obviously you have to teach the behaviour separately before you work it into another training session. Would that work?
