The boyfriend and I are planning a month long trip out east to visit some of his family. Both the girls will be on a pre packaged raw diet by them. How do I pack enough food for a month wich has to stay frozen? Should I just switch them back to premium kibble for that month?

Pack it in a cooler and put it in the freezer when you get there. It won't hurt it if it thaws out some and you refreeze it. I do that with my dog's food at times. Also, you can check out if what you are feeding is available locally. That way you only have to pack enough for the trip out, and then purchase the rest when you get there.

When we travel I pack a cooler with a couple days worth of food, then hit the grocery stores when we arrive.

I do the same as DanL, pack a cooler of about a week's worth and they shop when I get to my destination, except when I'm flying, then I just shop when we get there.

Funny story though (and a bit of a warning). Don't put the cooler behind the driver's side seat! I ended up getting into a wreck on one of my trips, flipped my car twice (luckily no one was hurt, and everyone was wearing seatbelts, including the dogs) and the lid to the cooler flew off during one of the flips. The ice had melted and I got showered in a lovely raw chicken scented water.... That was nice....

Just pack a cooler with enough for travel. Go to the manufacturer's website and find a store that sells it in the area you will be staying.

Aside from that, dehydrated or freeze-dried raw would be a convenient option.

I think I read in another thread that you're coming to Ontario? There are lots and lots of places to buy pre-made raw here. Especially in Southern Ontario. It might be more difficult in the more rural areas, but here you'll probably even be able to find what you are currently feeding them!

If you happen to be stopping in Peterborough (or even driving through) I'd love it if you stopped into my store for a visit! (I'm not there every day, but you can PM me, I'd love to meet you and your doggies!)

Frankly, I don't do raw when we travel, with the exception of recreational bones which I keep in a small cooler.

My dogs can tolerate kibble just fine, no allergies or anything, so that's what they get when we're on the road.

I shop as I travel, usually bringing a cooler (but note: if driving into or just through, Canada DON'T bring any raw! friends of mine had trouble driving through Canada once). But one of my dogs can't handle kibble at all, so that's really my only option.
