My Friend just got a Pit He's so sweet, a year old. Only problem is he is a chewer He's chewed up a bed spread & sheet Who knows what's next. At the shelter that was the only real thing they said about him. I have little dog's so i can't give toy advice. What should we get?

How about stuffed Kongs? or other treat toys.

They are usually the best "distraction" for big chewers... or like bully sticks.

I don't think a bully sticks is going to last, if it's a chewer. It only takes 10
minutes max for my husky to finish it. It takes my klee kai a day to finish.
:lol-sign: We got the everlasting green ball for our husky, and he hasn't destroy
it yet. :D

Kongs and other things with that hard rubber material. I recently got this for Domino:
Zogoflex Bumi Dog Toy
It actually has a guarantee - if your dog destroys it they'll either send you a new one or a refund (only once though!). I wouldn't leave Domino alone with it but it is holding up to her well.

Those bones you can get that are stuffed with goodies are good too. Both my pups enjoy them and not even Domino can break 'em.

if you know any hunters try to get whole deer hides then salt & dry. leave flat, if rolled they chew up faster.

All the toys from West Paw Design are guaranteed . The Nylabone Big Chew Dina Bone and Galileo Bone are very durable . Stuffed Kongs are good , best if the dog is unable to get the smallest part to the back of their jaw . I like the Canine Genius toys but not sure how they'd stand up to a very strong chewer . The Best Ball is pretty much indestructible .

So far for Cadey she has done great with raw soup bones, Galileo bone, ruff dawg rock, and her love Kong balls. As long as I watch her with the clutch ball it last for good while until one day I forgot to put it up and she tore it up. Oh yeah Jolly balls I have one it's last a good while just the handle is half way chewed off. I'm going to see about getting her next one with the rope in it next time or the plain ball. Also rope toy if you can get the biggest one you can find they work great she has like 5 knot rope toy that is holding up great.

Bully sticks for Cadey last only like 3 mins.

Ella isn't much of a chewer (THANK GOD). But I give her soup bones and nylabones for when she does chew.

A lot of pit bull owners will use bowling balls for their chewers.

oh yesyesyes!
I totally forgot about goughnuts!!!

TOTALLY have your friend pick up a goughnuts!
Seriously. ALLLLLL the pit bull people RAVE about how indestructible these toys are!

If Ella was a chewer, I'd be invested in goughnuts, but instead she is a ball monster so I should own stock in Planet Dog toys!:lol-sign:

the nylabone with the heavy white ends and the green rubbery middle part is the *only* toy that lasted my pit for a few months, rather than a few seconds. I also like the orbee balls that look like little globes. she pulled all the continents off within minutes, but then every time she tried to crush down on the ball it would spring from her mouth and frustrate her ;)

I agree that Goughnuts are worth the price. Alvin thinks they're great chew and tug of war toys. My dogs have had their goughnuts .75 for about a year and use them daily.

Dally is the most destructive dog I've ever met! She will peel and literally eat tennis balls in 10 minutes, same with soccer balls and anything plastic.

We buy Rollover bones to keep her busy in the house, and give her braided rope to play with.
