I need some Toy recommendations for Teagan. She is turning a year old tomorrow so I want to spoil her with a special toy. She likes stuffies, but they never last long as she tears them apart like they are a dead animal:rofl1: So I am thinking more of a puzzle toy. I did buy her a hedge hog that had eggs inside it and she loved taking the eggs out and then chasing them around. So I want something along that line that will work her mind as she likes puzzles. But I have no idea where to start so I though I might as well ask the dog toy experts. And as well Dog toys are so freaking expensive so I wanted some first hand advice.

Lincoln srsly loves a $1 toy I got from the Family Dollar.

They love the little Cuz, anything the poodles they can fit in their mouth and throw around is fair game. The also like the unstuffable toys.

About stuffies... I peruse thrift stores and garage sales for stuffies that don't have plastic eyes or anything and then let them have at it. I can't bring myself to spend more 75 cents on a stuffie, but at that price, they can shred them all day long. And they LOVE it. And when there's no stuffing left, I shove an empty water bottle in there with the lid off and a few pieces of kibble and they have a crinkly toy that dispenses treats.

But if you REALLY want to buy something, you should totally get a Wubba!

I would recommend 'skineez' toys, they are like stuffies, but with no stuffing. My girls love them, and while they destroy regular stuffies within a day, a skineez lasts us around two months even with lots of tug, throwing, and chewing.

I also second wubbas. Hole-ee-rollers are a hit here too.

I'm too cheap for a skineez. But I sew and I love shopping for fabric and materials, and seriously, the markup on those things is insane. Go to good will and buy and old stuffed animal and take the stuffing out. Same thing. LOL

Tsuki (or maybe Lincoln) chewed thru a hol-e-roller. They also like to unstuff things. All the toys we have now, are $1 ones from walmart, dollar store, or family dollar lol

skineez are a big hit here, too! :) Product Search Results - Discount Pet Supplies, Pet Supply, Online Pet Supplies
so are these:

These interactive plush dog toys will keep your pet occupied and eliminate boredom for hours, while developing higher intelligence and puzzle solving skills. Just insert the loose shapes and watch as your pet enjoys trying to remove them time and time again.
Hide-A-Squirrel - Comes with three (3) squeaker squirrels Approx 6.5" long and 1 plush tree stump Approx. 6.5" tall
and these:

Rippy's Dog Toy - Plush Toys - Dog
Toys made for dogs to rip them apart! Put them back together again and let 'em rip!
Choose from: Cows that moo, pigs that oink, lions that snarl, or elephants that roar.

One of my faves for Finn is one JL got him, this guy:

Puzzle Plush Dog Toys - Tough Turtle Canada - Dog Toys, Dog Clothes, Dog Boots, Dog Life Vest

He's got a velcro shell, and three squeaky turtles inside. Finn LOVES shaking the daylights out of it until the shell and the little turtles fly everywhere :p And it's MEGA durable, made from tough material. It's been ripped and shaken and abused a ton, and it's still going strong!

(Oh, and it's available in Canada through Pooch.ca)

Don't know if they still make them, but my mom's rottie always went nuts over a Giggle ball (it makes obnoxious laughing noises when rolled).
Riley has a toy similar to your hedgehog - a plush ball stuffed with smaller balls and half of those have squeakers in them that he has NOT managed to kill yet. He has a hol-e-roller, too, except I stuffed a small tennis ball inside it - drives him crazy trying to get it out. :D

Can't help it... gotta ask... Does the fine print say anything about these toys being off limits to certain Paps named Mia? :D

I really don't mind spending 7 dollars to replace their skineez every two months or so. :lol-sign:

KONG WobblerKONG Wobbler

The KONG Wobbler is a KONG- shaped food dispensing toy and feeder that provides a new way to entertain and challenge your dog. The Wobbler sits upright until pushed with a dog’s paw or nose, then wobbles, spins and rolls, dispensing treats through a KONG-shaped hole near the top. Dogs quickly learn that motion causes treats to fall out, but the unpredictable movement keeps the toy challenging, even for seasoned Wobbler users.

The Wobbler is a fabulous toy for playtime, providing challenge and physical activity the whole family will enjoy watching. It also presents an excellent alternative to the traditional food bowl, extending the joy of feeding time and preventing unhealthy gulping.

The Wobbler is Made in the USA of durable, FDA food-approved, high-strength polymer. It unscrews for quick filling and easy clean-up, and is top-drawer dishwasher safe. With “one size fits all” sizing, the KONG Wobbler is suitable for all dogs weighing 10 pounds or more.

These have been my favorites so far. I leave him alone for the day so these are great to fill with food/treats for him to work on while I’m away. The green ball is his favorite! My guy can’t have stuffies, he just carries them to a corner and tries to chew off any extremities – so I’m always looking for good alternative suggestions.
