How annoying are they? :lol-sign:

DH has been suggesting, repeatedly, over the past like...year and a half that I get bangs. I've not been doing it, because I don't know if I want bangs. But now...meh, I may as well try.

I tried side bangs a few years ago and didn't like them...I hated having to constantly either pin them up or style the bajeesus out of them to keep them from falling into my face. I do not like hair in my face, especially when I'm working/actively doing something.

So, if I were to try bangs again, it would be the straight-across kind to avoid things falling into my face and I just feel like I'll be back in the 90's. LOL BUT, I found a cut that was cute and I liked, so...why not?

Who here has bangs, what do you like about them, and what do you hate? Is it possible to have bangs and not have them constantly get in your way? Any cute hairstyles for long (top of boob length), layered hair? (I have thick, wavy hair that everyone who actually styles their hair says they would kill for because it holds everything so well, and I'm like TAKE IT AWAY LOL.) Again, probably no side bangs.

I have full bangs! I got them about two and a half years ago on a whim and I still have them because I love them. I don't find that they get in the way, but I like to have them trimmed every eight weeks or so to avoid looking like a sheepdog. ;) When I go a long time without trimming them they can look kinda funny and part in the middle which looks ridiculous. But yeah, I love my bangs, my friends all love my bangs, it's sort of become my look! Do it! :D

I did it a few months back... They've actually been a lot easier to manage than I remember (I had a fringe for years as a child...).

Shameless selfie from a few weeks ago. My hair is short at back, longer at front.

There's nothing really hard about it.... Other than regular trims. I forgot that. Regular maintenance. I cut mine myself sometimes.....

I iron them and get them trimmed very 8 weeks, other than that they are side bangs so they are pretty easy to deal with overall.
I'm on the right, they are a little long here but you get the point

I have a calic right in the middle of my bangs so no straight across for me without it looking like the parting of the seas lol.

So I have to do a side sweep. I also HATE hair in my face so they can't be hanging over or anywhere near my eye or I'll go nuts. so I usually just grab a curling iron and gather my bangs where I need them and then run the curling iron straight down and then a soft curl at the end so they don't look shockingly bone straight and then just a little hairspray and done. I do that after I wash my hair (I don't wash my hair everyday) and it lasts until the next wash.

I've had side bangs for quite some time now. I LOVE them when I have my hair down, but when I'm wearing it in a ponytail it gets so annoying because I either have to wear my hair extremely high up or have a headband on ugh lol

I'm keeping up on this thread because I'm thinking about having some put in again....but what's a calic?
I call it a cowlick:p but it's basically hair tha grow in the opposite direction of your other hair... And usually sticks up. It's beautiful let me tell you, lol. I have one near the back of my head. Usually I can tame it, but if I go to bed with my hair wet? Forget it haha

I've had a fringe in one way or another for years and years. I feel weird unless I have hair around my face.

Atm I have it straight, thick and down to my eyebrows and I wear the rest curly. I'm going to cut it up short and crooked again in a week or two so I get more time out of it. (I had this one cut halfway up my forehead 3 weeks ago and its already just about grown out.)

It's like a "cowlick" but it doesn't stick up... it's basically a parting of the hair inconsistent with the usual parting of your hair lol.

Long story short... about 3/4 of the way across my forhead my hair decides to lean the other way... DRASTICALLY lol. so it's like straight down straight down straight down and then suddenly leans to the right so there's a huge parting of the bangs and no matter what I do I cannot ease the part so that it hangs straight. I'll have to see if I can find a picture of my bangs when they are untouched

ETA: Ok this picture is REALLY old lol. I'm the blonde. but you can see the huge part in my bangs... that's totally natural and unfortunately Hannah has inherited it as well lol

I also have one in the middle of the left side of my head lol but the weight of my hair helps that one not be as obvious but when I wear it in a pony tail you can really tell.

I love mine. I wear them swept to the side and loose. I have straight hair so they're pretty easy to style.

The trick is to find a good length that looks good and doesn't bother you. I keep mine fairly short, but the far edges are a little jagged to blend better with my long hair.

Next time I get my hair done, I think I'm going to go for it!

I'm kind of thinking something like this:

I have straight, fairly non-descrript hair. Bangs and I have a love-hate relationship. We were going through work pictures the other day, and people were commenting that I don't have the same hair style/length/color in any 2 pictures. I think this is what happens when you only get your hair cut every year (give or take). It also makes bangs hard.

I also do swept off to the side bangs, because of the whole once a year haircut thing.

old pictures.....I had just gotten...12 or so inches cut off

This one was just....weird. Maybe I'd be able to pull it off better now that I'm more accustom to bangs. I dunno

This would be my preferred bang style

This is the current (ish). that was Feb, so they've grown out a bit

Just my 2 cents.
Straight across bangs drove me crazy. Lots of maintenance (my hair grows fast) they tickled my forehead, got in my line of vision, they frizzed, they were just UGH

and it (for some reason for someone with fast growing hair) TOOK FOREVER TO GROW OUT!

As cute as carly rae and t switf and company make them look...it made me look 12 years old, this goes double for most people with rounded cheeks.
