Last thread for a bit I swear.

Okay for those of you who adopted a dog as a puppy and the dog had a sibling so you ever wonder what the dog looks like now? Acts like now? If they are alike? If they are totally different?

To this day I wonder how Sashas sister turned out. They had different coats and all. I know her sister was the more playful and outgoing one and Sasha was the more shy and lazy one.

Anyways to this day I wonder and I hate not knowing. I wish I could have adopted them both.

I know she got adopted.

anyways just wondering if other people wonder this?

Sasha is the one with the black nose and smooth coat her sister has a pink nose and a wire coat

Oh gosh, they're cuties!

I'm sure Lucy had siblings, but she was an only dog at the shelter (she was 3ish when we got her). I do get curious when we see a similar dog on the street if they could be related. We ran into one dog at a dog festival who looked identical (except had a streak of white on the paw), and was the same age and all.

I did the same thing.....posting the story. I've also kept my eyes out online but I guess they don't have a dog page or anything

I would love to have a Bailey sib.

There were 4 in his litter. When I took Bailey, there was only one left, and the little girl cried and cried to be alone. It broke my heart. She was adopted soon after. If my building had allowed more than one dog, I probably would have ended up with two brand new puppies (which admittedly would not have been ideal).

Bailey is so ridiculously dog social that I know he'd love a sibling. And the little girl who was left was hilarious -- she was the biggest and definitely the alpha of that litter.

I do wonder sometimes. But really I don't think about it that often, I'm happy I got to save Lizzie and try not to think about what might have happend to the rest of the litter.

I did see a dog that was a twin (not joking AT ALL!) to Lizzie, and it was happy. Maybe it was a sign?

I guess I wonder more than anything if they look alike or if they look different. You know because as pups they looked alike but had very different features. (I actually never met her sister....they were in foster care....the rescue did not have a shelter just foster homes and we met the head of the rescue to see sasha and pick her up)

I also wonder if she is healthy. Sasha has been a very healthy dog never been sick a day in her life (although I am a little worried about the bump on her leg)

I just wonder and I think that is what made me start thinking about her

Sawyer was found with a dog I assumed to be his sister, Viva. I got to meet her a few months after I'd had Sawyer and the similarities between the two were just mindblowing. don't know if it was because they were sibs or I was just seeing very clear Aussie traits.

Viva is a black tri and had HORRIBLE hips, she had to have both her hip balls replaced at 2 years old. Meanwhile, Sawyer hasn't shown any issues with his hips. Viva was adopted by a great family in the KC Metro area, so I know she's happy.

Daisy wasn't adopted, but I would be curious to meet her siblings to see if any of the litter has fear aggression issues like she does. But who knows where any of them are now. :/

I am in occasional correspondence with Balto's breeder, the sire's owner, and my dog's siblings' owners. (There were only 3 puppies in the litter.) Three of these people are in Europe, and one in the US. From the sounds of it, all three puppies are very similar in temperament and intelligence, as are the parents.

A friend of mine just sent a Groenendael puppy back to it's breeder because it was biting people. Talking with the breeder, the other puppies in the litter are the same way.

Now, saying that, Ciana is very outgoing, but there was one little female in her litter that was extremely shy. She was the last puppy to be sold. So, heck! What do I know! Nothing!

If it's a mixed breed, that's when the pups' appearances become interesting.

All the time. When I adopted Misty, she was abandoned all by herself. But I actually met/saw two (one in person, one on craiglist) of her sisters. The one on craigslist was a very well taken care of foster and was looking for a permanent home, and the other I met in front of Petsmart during one of their adoption days. I'm sure they've both been adopted by now, but I do wonder about them sometimes. I was really drawn to the one in front of Petsmart but there was just no way I could have taken her home.

I wished that with Nikki though we didn't adopt her, we bought her from a not so good breeder. I always wondered what happened to the other siblings.

The only dog of mine that I don't know most of the siblings anymore is Summer. Of her two brothers, one moved a long ways away and the other's owner basically vanished off the face of the earth. The one thing we're curious about is their coat. I wonder if they had the same issue with lack of coat. I know every other dog's siblings though. (and I even own two siblings)

I always thought it interesting that Trey turned out to be such a weird dog and all his siblings were very normal (for shelties).

There were 10 in Argon's litter, and I would like to see them now! I wonder if any of them look like their Bassett mom, or if they all look like little Whippets. Or what their temperments are like. Are they shy? DA? Do their owners have to sing them a good morning song before they will get up? (Yes, I'm whipped by my Argon :rofl1:)

Missy had 5 siblings, but when I came, there were only her and an all-black brother left. I couldn't decide between the two of them for a long time.. Finally I decided to get Missy, but the other guy is never far from my mind. I think about about him all the time, wondering how he'd turn out and if his owner cares for him the same way I care for Missy.. Whenever Missy misbehaves, I always tell her "I should've gotten your brother!!":D

I don't know any of Mocha's siblings.. so he's an only pup to me.

I got Muffin from a friend who owns Muffin's mom & keeps one of her sister.. so I got to see how a little caring can goes a long way. I don't mean to brag, but I think Muffin is 10 times better than her sister. Her hair is shiny & silky, she has no matted hairs & absolutely no fleas, she's also fatter, better socialize & in general, a much happier dog.

You see there were only the two pups and I really wonder about what she looks like and if maybe there might be a clue to what else is in them. All we really know is Jack Russell Terrier (that is what mom was). And just want to know what she's like and know that she has as good of a home as Sasha you know.

But I know I never will know and that is sad but I still wonder

Clover (don't know if they changed her name) is the only other dog out there in the world that is the same as Sasha (Sashas name at the shelter was Tulip) and it would just be nice to know if they are anything alike

I haven't wondered about siblings, but I have wondered what Ginger looked like as a pup. She's a pretty cute adult dog, IMO, so I'm betting she was a really cute little elfin pup

Sierra wasn't a puppy when I adopted her and she was brought up from a kill shelter in Ohio so I know her siblings are nowhere near us, but I often wonder what her litter looked like. I have a feeling they all looked pretty different, since Sierra is such a funny looking dog.

I always, always, always wonder what Gonzo's siblings are like. I wonder if they have the same issues as him, and the same idosyncrasies, and the same amazing intelligence. I wonder if they're as mangy looking. :p

I wonder about Fozzie's Mom, and where she is now, and what her personality is like. I also wonder about his Dad... and what kind of dog he is, and if he's safe. They must have been very cool dogs.
