I have NEVER had to sit and listen to a dog grunt and snort so loud, for so long...just to BREATHE.

His owner kept making fat kid jokes. "He's on a weight gain diet." "He was a big boned puppy." The dog is NINE!

Another customer asked the guy what happened to the dog's eye....guy said that Pugs don't have nerves in their eyes and the eye just popped out "and basically exploded."

Ugh that pisses me off so so much!!!!

That is NOT okay, it is NOT funny, and those people should be forced to gain 300 extra pounds at least to feel how uncomfortable that dog is being that heavy.

It is not true that there are no nerves. The sockets on some lines of pug's eyes are too shallow/wide and their eyes, when pressure is exerted on the neck area or the skin is pulled to tightly, will pop out. They CAN be put back in though! All that has to be done is the eye has to be kept moist and then they need to take the dog to the vet ASAP. Those people probably didn't though and the eye had to be removed. If the eye "exploded" my money is on the dog had an ulcer that went untreated and the eye finally collapsed in on itself with the pressure it took to pop out. Bloody assholes! GUH!

I hate when assholes like that put out a front for my breed that is completely false and unhealthy. They are why no one in their right mind wants a Pug anymore. They're known as fat, grunting, unhealthy, defective dogs that are just ready to fall apart as soon as they're touched wrong.

Ugh.

/end rant.

Those are the kind of people I want to throttle.

And to think, I was embarrassed when we went to pick up Upendi, because I was so excited to pick her up I forgot the leash at home and we had to use a tie down from the back of the truck as a make shift leash.

There outta be a law. That's abuse! I can't stand people who starve dogs to death or who over feed them to the point of abuse. That's nothing short of abuse imo.

How horrible! People like that should not be allowed to own animals (or children, for that matter.)

I trimmed nails on a porker of a pug this week. As it was coming back, I honestly thought it was a pot bellied pig, rather than a pug. Pig/Pug... same difference I guess?

People just don't get it.

The poor guy was also had spots that were missing hair and he had to shuffle to walk!

A few weeks ago a lady comes out of the exam room with what was supposed to be a miniature dachshund. The vet announces "22 lbs!"

She looks at me with the 6.5 lb Noodle in my arms and goes "Harley was supposed to be a miniature, but I guess not!" The dog was a walking sausage!! He had the same body length as Noodle....I couldn't imagine her weighing 22 lbs.

People just don't see dogs as fat as a problem.

I love seeing Izzie and Chloe (I'm assuming from your signature) is adorable, too.

In real life, I've never seen a healthy pug. Only on Chaz. :(
