Implying that you and your fellow Texans are willing to shoot refugees if they dare step foot in your state is literally the lowest of the low to the point that I can't believe this is real life. How exactly is that attitude different than that of terrorists?

Texas is a ****ing scourge on the United States and I'm glad to have gotten out when I did. DD's attitude is not uncommon. The place is filled to the brim with xenophobic, racist, bigoted pieces of ****. **** Texas and the south in general.
As someone who is not a native Texan, I can't wait to get away from the toxic bigotry that goes on here.

I was there for 11 years which is 11 years too long. I'm sorry you're still stuck there and I hope you can get out ASAP! My best friend, who is phobic about travelling, still lives there, so I visit occasionally, and every time I remind her just how much I love her that I will willingly go back there :p

We will see, but if it does happen, they shouldnt expect a warm welcome, and they should know that Texas is an open carry state.
Really? These people fled terror and other humans threating their life. They probably spent months trying to get there and then you want to shoot them? What is wrong with you.

Most of the terrorists are already in the USA, they were probably born in the USA - or which ever country of your choosing.

Venting Thread Drinking Game:

1. Take a shot for every time you laugh at something ridiculous, homophobic, racist, xenophobic, bigoted, hateful, threatening, ignorant, body-shaming, or plain ol' inflammatory - as long as it makes you laugh out loud.

2. Take half a shot a shot at any witty, funny rebuttal to her comments that makes you laugh out loud.

3. Bottoms up every time someone posts a factual rebuttal with citations that she ignores, only to continue posting inflammatory, derogatory, attention-seeking comments that makes you facepalm like a motha****er

I'm hanging out with friends reading this thread and we are SO ****ING DRUNKKKKK think once the rest of this hits me I'm goin to puke... this is better than taking a shot every time Edward sparkles in a Twilight movie

There is just too much of a risk of terrorists slipping in under the guise of refugees. Besides, I would be interested to see if these countries would return the favor and take in American refugees.

Like I said, I understand and respect your views on this, and that that you don't agree with my stance on this, but it is what I believe.

In reference to "factual rebuttals" about the only factual rebuttal I have seen that is worth replying to is GipsyQueen, and a few others. The rest are snide, immature jabs at my character, calling me a "hateful person" and a "waste of air", call me what you like, but I stand by my opinions and views on this, just like I do everything else I take a stance on. Because no matter how much you might hate it, it is my prerogative.

Your stupid, petty insults mean nothing to me, they are just words on a computer screen, and it says more about your character than mine.

I have a tough skin, you aren't hurting my feelings, I promise you, in fact my husband and I have a good laugh, in turn at how immature and lame you are.

LOL people say that, then turn right around and FLOCK down here when there is 10 feet of snow at their doorstep.

Having different views than someone else doesn't make me a bigot, or a racist (I am in an interracial relationship for god's sake).

Let me give this scenario that I have seen around FB regarding the refugees: I have a bag of M&M's, but 5% are poisoned and the rest are safe to eat, would you still eat them? probably not.

People are not M&Ms.

You have a far greater chance of being killed getting in your car and driving somewhere than getting killed by a terrorist Syrian refugee. You have a greater chance of being killed by an American citizen than by a Syrian refugee.

But by all means, keep justifying your fear and hate. Shameful that a country that prides itself on its bravery is cowering in the dark making decisions out of fear and panic.

Well, I lock my front door at night (as I am sure you do, too) not because I am an unhelpful, or hateful person who doesnt love others ... I just love my family more than I do "outsiders".

That is how I see barring refugees, as "locking the country's front door", sure we love and want to help others and offer them safety ... but we love and want to help others and keep our "family" safe more!

you are one small minded disgusting human. Take 2 minutes and see what is happening to those refugees and with good concscience say they should not be helped.

****ing M&M's you just compared kids who's parents were forced to kneel on explosives and blown to red mist in front of their eyes, to ****ing M&M's. you're disgusting you know that? By simple matter of where you happened to be born you think you're special.
and I see your 2 bad apples and raise you

John Wayne Gacy, Ted Bundy, Tim McVeigh, Adam Lanza, Charles Manson, Jeff Dahmer, David Berkowitz, The Zodiac killer, George Hennard ( you should know him he's a local to you), James Holmes, and these are just the ones I have off the top of my head.

Locking your door at night is nothing like turning away refugees. NOTHING. Stop making up BS analogies that dehumanize people and minimize their suffering. These people have nothing, sometimes not even their own families. That's nothing, NOTHING like a burglar lurking outside your door at night.

I understand. You're afraid. Lots of people are afraid. But our country prides itself on being the home of the brave. Being brave means doing the right thing even when you're afraid and even when there's a personal risk to you.

If we turn away from these people - people who have suffered more than you can probably even conceive of, not M&Ms - then we don't get to call ourselves that anymore. Because we're cowards giving into bullies, doing exactly what the bullies want us to do. And probably creating more bullies at the same time.

I'm ashamed to be an American when I see people being so cowardly over what is an infinitesimally small risk. So much smaller than things we do every single day without a thought (like driving a car). This isn't what our grandfathers fought for, for us to act like a bunch of sniveling weasels. We need to be brave, we're better than this.

Who were all put to death, or given life in prison, might I add.

Having a different opinion on something does not make me terrible, it makes me disagree with you, and that pisses you off, mostly because you already dont like me ... and that is your problem, not mine.

Again ... just words, thats all they are.

I am no coward or snivelling weasel, my father FOUGHT for this country and he believes we should not accept them, as do many other veterans, and active duty military.

Also, didnt you say at some point that "if we look at the paris attacks objectively, there wasnt really 'that much' of a loss of life." Why dont you tell that to the people who lost loved ones? And you do know that two of the suicide bombers were women, right?

having a different opinion doesn't make you disgusting, Comparing kids whose parents were just detonated in front of their faces to M&M's makes you disgusting. Having a different opinion doesn't make you terrible, saying that if they let those people in you have guns and paranoid fools like you will take care of them, makes you a terrible person.

Not realizing you're so selfish and small minded makes you that, not a different opinion. Thinking that because someone is Syrian makes them dangerous not realizing you're surrounded by Americans just as capable of killing also makes you small minded.

You don't **** me off, you disgust me.

And yet you are too afraid of a very small chance of something bad happening to want to accept desperate people into your state. That IS cowardly. That your father is continuing to be brave in the face of a risk has very little to do with what YOU are advocating here, which is turning people in terrible, desperate need away.

Also, didnt you say at some point that "if we look at the paris attacks objectively, there wasnt really 'that much' of a loss of life." Why dont you tell that to the people who lost loved ones? And you do know that two of the suicide bombers were women, right?
Yes, in a discussion about risk assessment I did say something like that. (You forgot the part where I also said "not that I'm advocating doing this, but..." but that's an aside.) (Not sure what the gender of the bombers has to do with the taste of mustard, either...)

And yes, if you look at the numbers a very small number of people were killed in the Paris attacks. Looking at it completely objectively, that makes the actual risk to any one of us extremely small. So then, why, are we losing our dang minds in this country over refugees? Are we really SO afraid of a fraction of a percent chance of the same thing happening that we are comparing desperately needy people to M&Ms? Really?

I think if you look up the definition of sniveling cowardice in the dictionary, that might be actually given as an example. Shame on us. This is NOT how the home of the brave acts.

So the 3-4 posts with numbers and statistics and actual documentation to prove your comments wrong weren't good enough. Facts usually aren't good enough for you, I guess.

And you just used an ableist insult against me. Wow. Here are some facts for you, but they probably aren't worth your time. Maybe you're too busy hanging out with your friends in real life to respond to them.

You're missing the point. Entirely. It's not that you have different opinions - it's that you endlessly troll the forum, and for same insane reason, no one has banned you yet. You post inflammatory, hateful, ignorant things to deliberately **** people off.

We don't like you because you're small minded, bigoted, hateful, ignorant, racist, ableist, homophobic, body-shaming, and generally an all-around winner. We like you even less, because after trolling the forum with your "views," you continue to say the same things over and over again and play the ****ing victim, like you're some kind of martyr. It's not "our problem," it's yours. When you have 15-20 people lambasting you for your hateful views on a regular basis, the problem isn't those 15-20 people. It's you. Please google "occam's razor" if you need additional clarification.

We've said it before and we'll say it again: you're not wanted here. Your fearful, hateful, bigoted views are not wanted here. You were voted off the island years ago. You keep hanging around to prove a point that "our words don't hurt you" and "you are just expressing an opinion," and the lack of affirmation continues to cut you deeper, so you get uglier and uglier to get back at us. Just stop the cycle. You will never get affirmation from us for beliefs like this.

I am no coward or snivelling weasel, my father FOUGHT for this country and he believes we should not accept them, as do many other veterans, and active duty military.
Your relatives service has no bearing on your value as a human being. If that was the case, I'd be a superhero. But I can't claim their experiences as my own.

I am not a troll, I dont post "just to rile everyone up" and yes, I am quite busy and dont have time to read through the whole slew of insults against me, and truthfully, I probably wouldnt even if I didnt have a life.

I dont know where you get that I am a homophobe??? I also dont get where you get that I am a racist??? Xenophobic? yes I will admit to that.

You think your will is gospel and it is not, and you call me a horrible person, but I see that I am the only one not name calling, and using profanity.
