Getting married in 2 days, got my period today. Yup. So not awesome.
That so totally sucks. :(

I totally mistook my birth control (started a few days early one month, skipped my palcebo week another) in order to move my period to NOT occur on my wedding date. That was the one great thing about birth control: the ability to "choose" when your period would happen.

Ahhh so frustrated!

Suddenly decided we might go away for a few days (June 30 to July 4th) since the bf got a few days off for Canada Day. My mom usually takes Nia but she's away that week too.

My suggestions to my mom:

1. Have a dog sitter from a reputable company or one of my friends come watch her at my mom's house. Nia's a pretty stressed out dog at new people's homes so I strongly prefer this option. Mom says absolutely not, not safe, no idea what kind of people they might bring into our house, things could get stolen....

2. Try to find a place to board Nia that doesn't have other dogs. For example, in someone's home and not a boarding facility/dog hotel. Mom says no, Nia's going to be too scared.

Her suggestions to me are incredibly irritating:

1. I change my plans to go somewhere close by (she suggested a few place I have either been or have absolutely no interest in)

2. Find a hotel that can have dogs and fly Nia there with me. So many things wrong with this suggestions....hard to find hotels accommodating dogs, hard to book tickets for dog, don't have certified dog carrier, also difficult to do many simple activities like even having dinner somewhere or visiting museums/sights because no dogs allowed. Plus, most hotels don't allow you to leave your dog in the hotel by themselves.

3. Don't go because mom booked her own trip far ahead of me so it's my responsibility to take care of Nia and not board her.

Sooooo frustrattteeeeddddd
Do you live with your mom? Could a sitter come to your house? That said, Goose is very much an "I really am just comfortable with my family" type of dog and she always does fine boarding at a kennel. Is it her favorite thing in the world? I'm sure not. But dogs are adaptable :) They're actually all boarding for a week starting today.

I hate moving and selling houses and all of this crap.

I wish I could buy my house from my parents, but unfortunately I'm not rich enough for that yet. I really love this place though :(

P.S.- if you're gonna move several states away, get a freaking U-Haul. Christ on a cracker.

I wish our weather would pick a freakin season!! I have been miserable. Sinuses plugged and then draining and then plugged because one day it's 85 and the next 60. Raining for the foreseeable future. This is not summer and with the winters we have had I really want a summer:rolleyes: I just feel like whining and feel crappy doing it. Other people have reasons to whine. Ugh. Going to a benefit for a little boy that needs a heart transplant and I just have a horrible sinus headache so I'm making myself go.

And my best friend is moving to Colorado. Wtf.

On the plus side I am catching up on some spongebob.

Would your mom know anyone who could watch her? Not a sitter, but a friend or relative who would be able to act as a sitter?

Does your mom have the ability to say Nia can't go to someone else's house? If Nia is your dog (not a family/shared dog), I'd choose that anyway. Mom might be pissy, but she's not giving you much leeway for other choices.

This is a stupid thing to be annoyed about, but someone from my hometown/that I went to HS will recently became very successful in major sports. Cue, every single post in my newsfeed/every local paper/TV station plastered with his face. Which wouldn't bother me in itself, but it's just everyone I know in some way bragging about knowing him. HE PLAYED LITTLE LEAGUE WITH MY KIDS HERE'S 25 PICTURES OF THEM GETTING PARTICIPATION TROPHIES 20 YEARS AGO. HE ATE AT MY DINER. HIS PARENTS LIVED NEXT DOOR TO ME AND I ALWAYS SAW HIM PRACTICE. Yeah, you and everyone else from our small town.

I need up boarding her anyway since the trip was already planned.

Now I'm super super stressed about her not being with me. I keep wondering if she's drinking and eating... And if she's going to be ok with the water in the kitchen of the boarding place and not in the bedroom. But I don't want to be the super crazy person that micro manages the boarder's actions. Ack. She also works at home and I don't want to keep pestering her with questions all day like did she eat? Did she drink? Is she ok? Is she sad?

I can't imagine the lady would find it unreasonable or crazy for you to call and check in on her. :)

We take Cali to stay with a woman up the road, who she is in love with, but she's always happy to tell us how she was while we were gone.

I think I'm dying from strep. Literally
It's in my ears, my glands are SUPER swollen, and it's like I swallowed two white fuzzy caterpillars and they latched themselves to my throat. I'm on day 3 of antibiotics, steroids, and rinse for possible thrush. I'm choking on myself. Oh and puss. You all needed to know that really badly *evil cackling*

Dana, that sounds so horrible. I hope you feel better soon. Gargle all the saltwater.

I get so annoyed constantly seeing other moms putting their 10 months old, 13 months old, 15 month old, 18 month old in a front facing car seat. It's 2015. We know better. Our pediatrician tells us every visit she should rear face. My mom's group is constantly bombarded with posts (all of these women are members of it) with the differences in safety rear and forward facing. I just can not for the life of me understand why you'd put your kid in danger like that....there are plenty of things that parents are divided on or don't believe in, but this one seems pretty obvious.

And people almost always say something, send them a link to recommendations or the car seat company's guidelines or whatever. And they respond "well his legs couldn't go straight in the car" or "he likes it better". Yeah, my kid likes to have ice cream for breakfast better than yogurt and she likes to dive headfirst off the furniture instead of getting down like a human, but I don't let her, because I try to keep her safe. And if you can read, you can see on EVERY SINGLE car seat page/police page/fire department page/hospital page/pediatrician page about car seats, it will tell you that the length of their legs is not an indicator of when they should turn.

I was offered a killer opportunity and even though I think I could make it work I'm 99% sure I'm turning it down. Because I'm too effing logical to even enjoy it.

OMG yes. And because I don't have a child yet myself I totally don't know anything at all, so it's pointless to mention it to people. >.< I don't get it either. I don't have a child and I already know you RF as long as possible!

I am on vacation in Chicago this week (we leave tomorrow night). Today Jules , who is in boarding with the rest of the crew) lost function of all four legs. He does have horri la dpi so arthritis, but may have a possible spinal tumor. He is on steroids to see if he improves function and has a urinary catheter. If no improvement, we will be saying goodbye when we get home. Bummer end to a vacation, particularly as we cannot change our flight out time

Yeah - I'm pretty sure we are breaking all-time heat records here today :( There really isn't going to be much relief these next few days. :(

It's been horribley dry here already all summer long - actually it hasn't REALLY rained more than one day since I dunno... March? If it continues there will be a water shortag.
