Thanksgiving/Black Friday is pretty miserable this year.
Slept as much as we could, had dinner at Waffle House. Neither of us had family to see or talk to. Could have seen friends or spent time with each other at least. Wouldn't have mattered, unless we planned on just not sleeping and then working this chaos. BeAu works a total of 17 hours today. 11pm-2am, now he is going back in 4am-7am. I relieve him at 7am. He comes back in at 12pm, I work until 3pm, and he continues his shift until 10pm, pushing him into overtime. Sigh.
Is it cool to have a day of awesome deals? Sure. But it sucks to not be able to plan a holiday or enjoy a holiday, and just dread working this crap. I hate it. And it isn't like it is even appreciated. People will be bitchy, they will cop attitudes, get violent (someone already threatened BeAu's life today), and be so rude that you cannot help but be a robot and shove them out of your line as quickly as possible. No, I don't want to talk to you. How was my Thanksgiving? Shitty, so I could be here for YOU and sell YOU things.
And people were setting up Christmas stuff at the start of this month. Bah humbug. I'm not interested in holidays this year. At all.

Got a really awesome 10 gallon tank kit for $23. why is this a rant? because i wanted to buy TWO, and the stupid pet store claimed the one on the shelf was the only one they had. WHY WOULD YOU ADVERTISE SUCH AN AWESOME DEAL FOR YOUR BLACK FRIDAY SALE AND THEN ONLY HAVE ONE IN STOCK. I HATE YOU PEOPLE. DONT LIE TO ME *madface*
I had a puppy. Supposed to leave this am at five to drive out and get her. Husband threw a fit last night out of nowhere after being the one to tell me to call the breeder and setting up the trip etc and said not right time, to much etc. I am just beside myself right now. Telling myself there are worse things that could happen but I feel like I lost Byron all over. Hadn't even met her and I was attached. I've been crying all night. Even worse now I told the breeder.
Yeah I would have just gone and went with the plan anyway and let him bitch and moan and groan about it. my OH knows better then to do something like that but sometimes he does and he doesn't get his way about it (hes a Gemini ... they like to change their minds LOL) I don t put up with it ... I make him stick to the original plan.
it has taught him to put a lot more planning and prep into his decisions before he makes them that's for sure. OTOH I don't make snap decisions so if I did decide to get another puppy, it wouldn't be a spur of the moment thing (which it also sounds like your decision was also well though out) so he really wouldn't have anything to gripe about anyway.

On my break and considering killing someone. I had one awesome customer. The rest were ****. Want everything free, or cheaper, or returning things to get their money back so they can get the cheaper deal today. Trying to steal things off the counter, lying about gift cards, creating scenes, mad because promos don't stack and they had to pay a measly $5 more.

Had to get my Hepatitis A, Influenza and Tetanus vaccines all in one go yesterday (travelling in the new year).
BF: Thursday work for you?
Me: Well, there's no good time to be sick, so whenever works for your schedule.
BF: Huh?
Me: I always get sick after vaccines. Especially the flu vax.
BF: Yeah but you said you haven't been vaccinated in awhile... I bet you'll be fine. It's usually all in the person's mind when it comes to vaccines.
Me: ... My mind doesn't conjure up a runny face and fever, darling. I don't enjoy being ill, why would I make it up?
BF: I'm sure you'll be fine.
Cue today. I feel like I've been hit by a bus. BF is acting mildly surprised.
I want to spend the day in bed. I have a huge rescue fundraiser thing tomorrow for AlliePets and I don't want to feel assy for it.

I want to spend the day in bed. I have a huge rescue fundraiser thing tomorrow for AlliePets and I don't want to feel assy for it.
So after getting all excited for Catching Fire, I showed up at the theater in my neighborhood only to find out it's 21+, and has been since July. I last went in March during renovations and thus had no idea. They have a full bar in the back and state law etc... I didn't even know that was a thing! You're turning away so much clientele like that, especially in the University District! It's 1:30 in the afternoon! Why not have the bar separate and card at the entrance, like casinos do? I just find the whole business idea so mind boggling. I'm not going to bus downtown to see a movie by myself either, so now I'm just irritated and PMSing and I don't know what to do with my day.
Sadly, it's becoming increasingly common. Movies don't make money from admissions (/movies) themselves.. they make them off concessions. People, at this point with the price of tickets don't tend to purchase food/drink really..I mean, to be fair, why would we? You can sneak in everything for much less lol
but, without fail, given the chance to drink alcohol in any social place at any time, no matter how jacked up the prices are, people will pay. Bars are proof of that.
And it's a business plan that's working very well from what I can see.
