My plates expire on the 28th of this month. I didn't realize it until earlier this week when Michael pointed it out to me. So went and got my tax exemption form from legal, then stopped by the tax office to renew them...and apparently, because my father cosigned on the car for me and in turn is on the title, he has to be present for me to renew my plates OR give me power of attorney over the car.
Um. My dad is 900 miles away, thank you very much.
So now we're trying to figure out paperwork and how to get it down here to me in time so I'm not driving around with expired plates. Lovely.
Stupid state. I don't know why they need him. I was able to *purchase* a plate for the car in Indiana without him being present, I don't know why they need his authority to get the dang thing renewed. UGH.
Mostly I use it to call people.
Y'know. Like a phone.
I view my smart phone as a very mini-laptop. I was given a tablet as a gift and I was all like, "Um....this is just like my phone, only bigger...?" Luckily, DH is getting use out of it because I was contemplating selling it. DH gave me his old laptop to use should I need it, as he had bought a new one during A-school and I actually prefer to use my phone, because it is about the same speed, if not faster. LOL
The GPS/map feature is also amazing. I hate driving when I don't know where I'm going, and having an interactive map really eases my anxiety. (And yes...I do know how to navigate with an atlas/map, and have done so on numerous occasions. My phone is just WAY easier and so much more convenient.)
