I really like the B&W with the guy on the bench, the first butterfly shot and there is something really cool about that bench on the last shot.

I like that foot/paw prints in the sand. That picture really speaks 1000 words. I wish I had a good eye for stuff like that.

Sure! Go right ahead! And Buckshot, thanks- that's actually on of the older ones - it was taken with some kind of point and shoot, but I liked it. Now if only I could think up interesting pictures more often!

AWESOME Photos!!!!!!

Mine are a different flavor than most, this sequence happened in a blink of an eye, literally... I was panning a different car the red and white car in the bottom of the picture(The father of the girl who flipped, a local Sprint Car legend), caught the action in the corner of my eye, this is why the first shot is shaky... The rest are the sequence of a SOS Sprint car, being wheeled by a 16 year old girl, as it flipped multiple times...

Close up of the above pic...

To play off of LauraLeigh's photos... these were actually taken by Sada, after one of the worst Iowa blizzards in recent memory. The state was pretty much shut down for three days, all of the highways were closed, and many major roads in cities as well.

These were from Day 4, when Highway 80 was opened. No one had been on the road in three days. A trip that usually takes 30 minutes took us more than 2 hours, and there were many times when I was driving, white-knuckled, wondering WHY we were risking our lives to go to a dog bakery.

And not mine... but some photos of the Iowa floods, in my hometown. I'll see if I can snatch a few photos from my mom, she took some photos that really should be in a gallery.

Yeah, IMO there are few natural disasters scarier than a flood. Not only do you have the water damage and total destruction... but you have mold and mildew that sticks around for weeks and months, making it dangerous or even deadly to go in and clean up.

There are still sections of the city that are completely abandoned. There was nothing in place to help the citizens, and the government expects citizens to clean up the houses themselves, with their own money, before they can even sell/abandon the house and try to put their lives back together. It's horrible, and it's still horrible. I drove through the worst parts of town when the roads finally opened... and it was one of the saddest things I've ever witnessed. The sense of loss and helplessness is overwhelming.

Imagine losing your home, your car, ALL of your possessions... and the government tells you that you must clean your house, hire a company to make it not a health hazard (i.e. remove mold and mildew), and make it safe BEFORE you abandon it or have it torn down, or sell it. Meanwhile you're living in a tent town, or a relief shelter. Your pets are at a disaster relief shelter across town. You don't have flood insurance, because your house is/was on a patch of ground that hasn't flooded in 500 years... What the *heck* do you do... :(
