The musing thread

I need new workout clothes. I used to live in MI where any old cotton thing would work. Now I live in TN where I sweat a lot and the cotton clings, and is sticky, and hot, and uncomfortable. I'm not comfortable in "clingy" (aka tights) workout wear but the loose stuff is driving me nuts because it's moving around. The last workout was so hard/painful/long that I found myself not caring what I looked like as long as I could finish...and I think tights would've been more comfortable in that case. *sigh*

If you're on mobile it might be, but it's the same size as yours (if you include text) otherwise!

It's huge on my screen, too. It makes me have to scroll sideways to view it all

I think yours just appears bigger because it's a full pic. In normal screen on the computer her's is about as tall as yours but when the screen is made smaller her texts wraps to the changed screen size and your's being a static picture doesn't so it makes it look larger.

I got Rumor (and the cats) a kiddie pool. I give Rumor maybe five minutes before she pees in it.

One of the coordinators of the rescue I'm volunteering with has offered me my perfect dog. I met him today, he's awesome, and I can take him on a trial period at any time, but I need BF to give me the okay, but he's only saying "maybe".

I need a yes. Please please please!!

Has he met him??

Maybe an introduction will push it over to yes?

I need a cute, sweet outdoorsy girl who wants an awesome guy. The catch: he's stuck on Alaska, I think it's possible to convince him to move to the PNW but... He's such a catch!

Convince him to move to Alberta and we are golden. :rofl1:

I've accepted that a good majority of the time I have to explain to the public that Goose is a Chow. I had not contemplated this being an issue with Brooks, because everyone knows what a Poodle is, right?

Wrong.

No one knows what a Poodle looks like.

Poodles are white, silly.

I was asked what breed Finn is today. When I said border collie, they said "oh! That's my breed, I've had them my whole life!"

Oh.... OK...

.

They also never have a puppy coat.

I think if he were in some sort of pattern cut they'd have an easier time. My enjoying his puppy coat while it's here is my downfall, it seems, lol.

Erm, heck no, not a poodle with dat color. Get ready for lots of goldendoodle guesses!

He's always a Doodle of some sort :) or a "poodleandwhat?". And today he was an It:)

AJ's got a bout of vestibular disease again that started tonight. After I finsihed Saxon's harness, I whipped up a quick "balance" harness for him to help him up and down stairs. I made it out of scraps, so it's many colors. But, that also means it's color coded...which means my mom can actually figure out how to put it on him! I never thought about color-coding harnesses before, but I know plenty of people who have problems figuring out harnesses. Even something as simple as "black goes ________, blue goes ___________" might work (AJ's has 4 colors).

A year ago tomorrow I brought Buzz to the neurologist because he was struggling to eat safely. He couldn't eat dry food and I had to hand feed him meatballs of soft food. He also had partial facial paralysis. The neurologist told me that Buzz was an old dog who'd lived a good life, and that he had no answers for me as to why this was happening.

Two other veterinary professionals both told me to have a thyroid panel run on him.

They were both right. Within a week of starting meds, he regained the ability to eat safely and his facial paralysis lessened. He had no outward signs in less than a month.

Buzz had a rough week last week but today he's feeling great and demanding attention. I really feel lucky to know such wonderfully knowledgeable people.

Here's a semi-recent picture of him.
