Know you're in the south when Mardi Gras is considered a holiday. The clinic is closed tomorrow and I get holiday pay for working a kennel shift! Hahahaha!!

Yey for tax returns!

Had the money budgeted that I knew I'd be paying in IN state income tax (no way for it to come directly out of my paychecks), but our federal return will be a very nice addition to our savings account!

So grateful for my job and coworkers tonight. I got home from work at 6pm, ate some dinner, and then when I went to pick up my cat he just about took my eye out and thereafter seemed painful - crying, didn't want anyone near him. With his recent diagnosis of having crystals in his urine, and his previous incidents of urinary blockages, I was a little concerned we were headed down that path again. At this point it's 6:30 and the clinic closes at 7, but I gave them a call and they told me to come back over - I just needed someone to help so that I could palpate his bladder.

So a tech and the dr. helped me out, we palpated his bladder, took an x-ray, rechecked a urine sample... long story short he's not blocked but apparently all down his spine and even his tail he has arthritis. No bladder stones and he actually has no crystals in his urine now either. So I got some pain meds and we're crossing fingers that his behavior was just him being arthritic and uncomfortable and we're now even wondering if that's why he's been urinating outside the litter box (he has a tall box he has to jump up into - I can see where that owuld be difficult for him).

Anyway I'm just really grateful that they stayed late so that I could run over and get some help. All I wanted was someone to feel his bladder, totally wasn't expecting anything else but they were like nope, let's do this. It was nice to not have to go to the emergency clinic especially since it was mostly a case of paranoid cat mom, and not really an emergency :)

And also yay for no crystals! That's been bothering me the past 3 weeks.

I have officially been accepted into my top school choice (and my second- possibly all 3) for the Advanced Standing Master of Social Work program!

So happy! and relieved.

Just talked with the S/O and we will be moving into a town home together that we are looking at as soon as my lease is up at the end of July- so I will have already completed 1 of 4 semesters of the Master's program (it is summer 2015, fall 2015, spring 2016, and ends summer 2016).

So my official NO SCHOOL EVER AGAIN (other than CE's) date will be the end of July, 2016!!!

I also graduate with my Bachelor's degree in 10 weeks!

Tentatively saying here too - 50s the last two days. Supposed to go all week. It feels SO NICE to be out in the sunshine!
Right? Just when I seriously thought I couldn't take another day of this terrible sub zero, spring *seems* to have sprung!

I couldn't stop smiling today, and I noticed my teen boys were even more considerate to me, dad and to each other as well!

So happy for this warm weather! Hoping to go for some walks on the trails this week. The only thing that is holding me back is thinking about all the mud.. Maybe I should stick to paved trails for now.. hmm..

Either way the warmer weather is making me much happier and it is not too hot yet (80's), and hopefully wont be for awhile. So yay!

My old mare looks awesome after a very cold winter! Took her blanket off and brought her in from the back pasture yesterday. She really looks like a new horse. Wish we had the cushings diagnosis before. They were all so pretty running through the snow all shiny because their blankets just came off. I should have gotten pics. I also almost ate it several times walking out there so glad I didn't take the camera! Spring really is almost here!!!

A good friend gave me an amazing opportunity to go to Arizona for a couple weeks next month. Then I'm home for a little under two weeks, then I head to Florida to hang with Jessie and her crew, and meet Nora.

Then I come home and move.

Life is good :)
