Has anyone ever heard of or dealt with The Dog Rescuer located in Antwerp, OH? They have a dog that I'm interested in listed on Petfinder. I put in an application for her (despite the fact that I'm not really looking for another dog) but it just seems weird. Their application listed on petfinder looks like it was written by a kid. It kind of seemed like a red flag... Poor grammar and lack of organization and information out there. I did a Google search and couldn't really find anything about them online. Just wondering if they're good and if anyone has experience they want to share. Not sure I'll even get an approved app due to one of my dogs being intact (for conformation). I've had issues with that before and it makes me nervous dealing with rescues.

I've heard of them, but nothing specific. Only observations similar to what you noticed. There are a lot of shady rescues in OH, (as I'm sure there are everywhere) ... they're not really monitored or maintained in any way, so I don't know. I'll ask around for you, though, if you want? I know where Antwerp is but I don't know anything about them, personally.
My assumption would be it's a one woman show and she's not too good on the computer. But that's just an assumption. I would err on the side of caution but that doesn't mean the dogs don't deserve good homes.

We just put in an application with The Dog Rescuer. We were wondering about the organization as well. I know this post was several years ago, but did everything end up okay?
