The dog musing/vent thread

YES, THE FOSTER WENT THROUGH!! (I was worried that they would call my apartment manager and find out that I technically didn't get "specific" approval for temporary fostering <___< )
I'm fostering for 1~2 weeks. This is Delilah (calling her Lila), a various mix of things.
She's actually EXTREMELY comfortable in any new environment, no fear issues... essentially bombproof, but also very outgoing and attached with people (following me around everywhere), good with big/small dogs (my coworkers are also fostering a few large dogs, and Lila thought they were pretty great
), very energetic and fast and focused on me... which makes me think she has papillon or JRT somewhere, jumps very high (higher than Rara at least), goes after the flirt pole, learned a consistent "sit" from me in about 5 minutes... and I haven't heard her bark at all. :0 She's very quiet, while being not sensitive to loud noises. I also gave her a bath, and she seemed like she knew she was supposed to stay still... she was calm and tolerant. I brought her into the hallway of my apartment and downstairs already, and she's chill and happy all the way. She also knows how to walk on a leash on my left side, after the initial excitement of going on a walk LOL.
She was found as a stray, and has had puppies before. Currently sleeping in a tight ball next to me.
She might just be special, but it's also encouraging to me that not all dogs will freak out in my apartment.
What do you guys think she looks like?
And she really does jump proportionately high. She's a little athletic thing. She can jump straight up right into my arms while I'm standing, and I'm 5'5". Keep in mind that she is 11 lbs LOL

I'm tempted to keep her, but she's also very different from the type of dogs I'm already set on... so it's hard to be fully in love. She's a great dog for practically anyone in any situation though.
She's also totally housebroken!! Whoever was her previous owner obviously trained and took good care of her. It makes me wonder if her owner is out there somewhere worried to death, but doesn't know where to look.

Dekka is only 12 pounds... (and the best dog to have ever dogged ever in the history of the multiverse. Though I could be biased)
Seriously though small dogs can rock dog sports. There are times when smaller dogs have advantages too
I don't see any BC. I definitely see papillon though.

I dunno that I'll ever go toy sized again but they're fun. I'm really digging Hank's 26 lbs. It's just perfect sized.

Oh yeah, definitely small dogs can be super agile and fitting for agility in particular! When we were taking agility classes, Rara fits the bill well too, if she wasn't limited by back leg issues with jumping.

New addition coming Monday. I tried to be good, but I can't be. It's hard when I always feel like my eyes draw me into a dog, and then it must come home. Has happened with Little Foot, Chomper, and now the new addition....who most likely is going to go by the name Petrie. It already fits. opcorn:

Lancer's started with odors! It was only his 3rd class. Nicole didn't give me the birch yet for home practicing though. :')

Also, I'm volunteering for a NW3 trial 40 minutes away in mid-January, which is relatively really close! I hope to at least watch the dogs work for a portion of the day.
I feel like I have to train Lancer in odors and ORT and trial and do everything at once or I'll explode.
And Lilah update, she is VERY attached (seems like a common chihuahua thing) and has some crazy separation anxiety... not destructive, but will bark and yelp if I even use the restroom and close the door on her. She'd do best with someone who is retired or home a lot. I hope she can find a home soon, because it made me feel sick to the stomach to leave her yelping this morning (since I have work hours).
