First dock diving even of the seaso this weekend and Outlaw is making his debut in Extreme Vertical (hopefully) and Speed Retrieve.

I'm so nervous!

Michaela did really well at her intermediate obedience class last night, the first one with no screaming. (Discovered in her introductory obedience class that she's highly reactive to other reactive dogs, as in, up on her hind legs, screaming death threats back at the dogs barking at her, and then at any other dog that came near her. Such fun.)

We've been working for weeks on 'watch me' and lots of treats for keeping her attention on me instead of screaming at the other barking dogs. Last night she held her heel position on a loose leash and watched me most of the time, only glancing at the one bitch she REALLY hates once in awhile. Usually, a glance is enough for her to go ballistic, but she gave me her attention when I asked. Such a good grrl!

I am never getting a puppy again.

I love this dude. It's just the house training. I hate it. Oh my god I hate it. House trained dogs only from now on.

I am taking him out constantly but I am still cleaning up after him constantly. How does one puppy have so much pee?! Enough!!
I DON'T KNOW!!!! All the stealth pee. Everywhere. RIGHT IN FRONT OF OUR NOSES. HOW. His superpower is the gift of pee. :rofl1:

Just some frustrated musings on my search for nextdog...

I emailed a breeder asking a couple questions about health testing and titles (since neither were listed on their website) and didn't get a response after close to a week. So I sent another email. No response after several days. So I called and left a voicemail. It's been over a month - no contact.

I know they are still active because they recently updated their page with a few details about a spring litter they're expecting. I totally fell for this breeder's dogs after meeting one that my friend owns. Chihuahua breeders (either BYB or confo breeders, neither of which I'm interested in) are a dime a dozen around here so it's not like there's a shortage, but I really like THESE particular dogs. I like their size and looks and attitude - I really don't care for the look of conformation chis and don't want to risk it with a BYB dog. But I'm not getting a response and at this point doubt I will, unless I get my friend involved as a middle-man.

Whomp whomp.
Uh. So. (((((hUGS)))))

Yeah, he's still like, MASTER stealth pee-er! It would be really impressive if it wasn't so freaking annoying, lol.

The good news is that I bond with him more every day. He's settling in now so he's showing more and more of his personality. He's such a good little guy. <3 He just needs to STOP PEEING IN THE HOUSE!

His breeder litter box trained the litter, and I was going to just bring him here and go straight to going outside, but now I'm seriously thinking about finding the pan to my old rat cat and setting up a puppy litter box. Yeah it's one more step, but at least I won't be scrubbing the hell out of my totally wrecked carpet every day  I can't wait until he's house trained so I can steam clean ALL THE THINGS.

So annoyed with my subscription box. I really wanted to support a local Canadian company, but they suck so much! The first box was okay, but nothing impressive. The second box only had one toy, one bag of treats, and a special cookie, and the third box had a small toy, a giant cookie, and a small bully stick...Neither of the cookies were grain free, which thankfully isn't a problem in my house, but two months in a row?

BarkBox was cheaper and a thousand times better.

Awesome dog mom moment of the day: whilst attempting to guide Briz toward the ball stranded on the other side of the creek, I accidentally lobbed a rock directly at Briz with the Chuckit...and he caught it. Busted the tip off one of his canines.

well.
I told P's co-owner tonight his paperwork was sent and his CHIC number will be in soon, so I'm ready to breed him whenever she is, so if she has people asking we can consider asks now.
and she said okay.

Up at 5:30am for Dock Diving! I'm so excited for the first event of the season! Outlaw hit a possible new PB in practice yesterday at what looked 23'!

Sometimes I really wish I could just play ball out in my yard with my dog without having to worry about everyone else's dogs coming in our yard.

But no, we have a whole bloody acre and a half just to look at on a beautiful Saturday.

Too bad they haven't invented an invisible fence that keeps other animals OUT of your yard, instead of just your dog in.

Had a blast lure coursing with Rhys on Friday. It's so nice to have a dual registered dog and to have so many options for titles and sports. I was a dummy and didn't sign up for it two days in a row, so I missed titling him, but he had a blast.

It was an AKC trial with a real mixed bag of breeds. He was the only Amstaff and of course he was SCREAMING. Lol. No drive whatsoever. It was a 600 yard course and he ran it both times in 31 seconds. 31.31 the first time, 31.03 the second.

Little meathead was movin'!!

Menchi is jealous...she loves to go coursing.

We are headed out the weekend of 5/1 for a trial and CAT in Iowa...so looking forward to it.

To go to Arizona and bring Roxie along, even though she doesn't really enjoy temps higher than 70...

Or to stay home. I honestly don't really wanna go. Mostly cuz that's a LONG trip all the way from WI in the van, and because drama llamas.

I hope I don't get suckered into going along, lol.
