How in the Derek Hale do people without dogs keep their kitchens clean? Just spilled half a bowl of Kickin' Buffalo Chicken soup all frickin over and at least Roxie is able to get the majority of it... Obvs still stained the floor so I had to hotmop it, but seriously.

What do dogless people do? I could not even get that anywhere near as clean as it is without a dog to eat half the mess, lol.
I always wonder that. I "clean" the counters in the kitchen after I've made food by swiping the scraps onto the floor. I can't imagine actually having to throw it in the bin. The same with my bread crusts or any food that hasn't been finished. I can't imagine putting food into the bin because it always goes to the dogs.

I clean spilled food off the floor by shouting for the dogs. My husband occasionally applies this method to the counters as well. "What?" he asks when I catch him hoisting Brisbane onto the kitchen counter.

Literally the first thing my dad said to me when I saw him today was "Finn looks like one of those starving street dogs."

My parents are ALWAYS telling me he is too thin and it is so annoying.

Call 911 he has a waist.

So thin. So starving.

If you put your ear to the screen you can hear him crying out in hunger :'(

Seriously?
Finn looks like he's in great condition, waistline but no ribs showing. Yep totally starving o_O
I hate that the general trend is to think that amorphous blob on legs = healthy.

I had a scary incident on our nightly potty walk ... some jerk apparently tossed out a chicken bone (it was the "shoulder" part, not the "flappy" part) and Lincoln picked it up before I could stop him and had it in his mouth! Luckily I was able to get it away from him before he swallowed it so I don't think any harm was done, and I checked his mouth when I got back inside to see of anything more was in there or of anything was stuck in his throat and I didn't find anything ... but geeze! Thank god for my quick reflexes ... I guess???

He has a pretty good leave it for a 5 month old puppy, but it was dark and I didnt see it until I heard him with something in his mouth, I had tograb him really quick and fish it out of the back of his throat!!! Poor little guy was scared and was like "Mommy I'm sorry! please dont be mad at me!" I wasnt mad, just terrified and I had to act quick or I was afraid he was going to swallow it!!! I was so freaked out by it, that it took me about 30 minutes to calm down after I got back inside.

Ugh the temptation is real!

I was told by a coworker the other day that she is expecting her dog to have puppies any day now...This is a oops litter situation. She has both parents...The dad is a Rottweiler/Chow Chow mix and the mom is a German Shepherd/Great Dane mix though to me she looks a lot like a Terv. Both dogs have fabulous friendly temperaments. I have met and interacted with both dogs on visits to my friends home............I'm just saying....Yes it's an oops litter and irresponsible etc....But I would have a hard time saying no to those dogs offspring....:D

Soooooooooooo.....There is a POSSIBILITY of a puppy in about 12-15 weeks time. It will just all depend on where I am financially at the time and if there is a puppy that I connect with that I feel will be compatible with my family/life.

I am not planning on telling any of my immediate friends or family until after the puppies are born and I have come to a more concrete decision. But I needed to share! And this seemed like the right place.

Renamed Oli as Little Foot. I thought about that name to start....and Oli just kind of stuck, but I never really found it right, but think Chomper and Little Foot must go together! :p

Love it.
Josh and I actually planned on watching that the other night..before I fell asleep lol

Dog vent for the day: Cobain has pink eye.
He managed to scratch under his eye to the point of bleeding while I was at work today. Thankfully the eyedrops are doing wonders already. Out of all of them, it really kills me to see him in any sort of pain :(

Got to play with the CUTEST 4.5 month old Rottie pup at work today. He's boarding and I'm doing a kennel shift tomorrow, so I'm going to try to get pictures!

He is sooooooooo fsking cute. Man, he makes me want a Rott. If it wasn't for the fact that we would be renting and I was worried about BSL I probably would have gotten a Rottie instead of a Chessie. Zomg, the cute. His little nubbin just wags and wiggles. <3 Unfortunately he's owned by some idiots. :/ But hopefully he'll be alright.

When Abrams is a senior, maybe I'll finally have to get a Rottie boy. <3

I love it. Little Foot is an awesome name, and goes along perfectly with Chomper :D

My squee for today is that my Howling Dog Alaska gear is probably coming tomorrow!!!! I've never been much of a runner since track in middle school, but I think it will be a lot more fun with some dog power.

And of course I think I'll also get into skijoring- I just have to learn how to ski first (and get boots for the skis...) Plus, eventually, scootering. After I get another dog.

I can definately see myself falling, flailing head first into cani sports very quickly.

Lincoln went for his first bike ride today and he did AWESOME!!! he wasnt even scared of it and took to it like he had been doing it all his life! My "bike" is actually a trike, because I have balance issues due to a head injury I suffered a while back, so it doesnt even look like a normal bike and he still didnt even mind it! However, I am very out of shape LOL, there are a lot of hills which are HARD but the second ride this afternoon was a lot easier than the first, luckily I get into shape quick!

Oh yeah :) This is definately something that Roxie and I were made to do.

I just... have to work on getting her to quit coming to a sudden halt, sniffing and marking on things, lol. :wall: That may never happen, but for the most part she's solid. Had a baby run yesterday and it went rather well! :)

Putting bathroom habits on cue was the best thing I've ever done. Took Pilot to get sushi this afternoon, it's 1 degree F outside with the windchill, 20mph winds... Walked up to a snowbank on the way inside, cued his break and he peed in 5 seconds and we were on our way. Whew.

I do really need to stop getting puppies in the winter though. So cold taking them out.

I honestly have no idea what I would do without a dog like Roxie to come home to after a bad day.

I really just don't.

I wish Fennec wasn't so cute and endearing. I didn't want to like her so much haha. I don't mind having four dogs at home, but when it comes time to go somewhere and I don't want to leave anyone behind, it's a little more difficult. Ugh. I'm so conflicted. Every day I wonder if I should keep her or not and every day she makes me love her more. Decisions, decisions. It doesn't help that if I do keep her, she's free lol. Who doesn't like a free puppy?

Ahhhhhhh. Why can't now be the time for a new dog. Ugh. Sweetest little petite black female lab (mix?) at a local high kill shelter.

Stupid being a responsible adult. Gosh, she looks perfect. I really hope she gets a good home.
