Ugh Lincoln has entered the "all things must go in my mouth" stage, there isn't much he can get a hold of, but I have still been taking things away from him all morning lol, still, it could be worse, so although it is slightly annoying, .

That and he has taken to waking up at 5 am and carrying on -_-, though I think he is started teething.

I hate staying with my parents during vacation so much. They think Finn is "way too skinny" and my mom gives him like 8 of those crappy Busy Bones a day, so whenever we're at their house he gains weight like crazy and has diarrhea.

She thinks any dog with a tuck up is too skinny, and god forbid you can FEEL ribs.

km lucky, My folks think my dogs are top skinny, too but they don't feed them whatever they want, hey understand and respect that the dogs get a strict ration, they even let me ration their three dogs so THEY don't get fat lol.

Why do collies seem to have such tiny eyes? I really like collies but it's like their eyes just keep getting pinchier and tinier like specks of opal in the night and then I see something else and just go "I really like the big expressive eyes all the other dog have?"

Also, what's with all the excess hair these days in long-haired breeds? Go back and look at old school photos or even modern ones of working dogs and all of that fluff was never functional. It's not even fun to groom these days and I'm sure some of these dogs wouldn't mind living without it.

I am really enjoying Fennec except that every night she poops in her crate, eventhough her crate isn't too big and I make sure she goes outside right before bed. Hopefully she stops soon. Cause otherwise, she's pretty awesome. Super brave, fun, outgoing, eager to learn, very food and toy motivated, etc. I'm really starting to like her a lot. A lot a lot. But she needs to stop being gross lol. Ugh.

Sometimes, when I get annoyed by my dogs, it's nice to have an even more annoying dog planted in my day to make me realize nope, my guys aren't so bad.

We have a pit bull impounded at work. She hates going outside. I haven't had issues with her before, but apparently today she REALLY didn't want to go outside, because this morning when I opened the door to let her out she responded by jumping at me and biting my arms. She ripped the sleeve of my sweatshirt :(

So, my dogs don't do that, at least. They also don't poop and pee everywhere and walk all over it.

YES. Sometimes I get frustrated that Hugo struggles to focus on my when other dogs are around. Then I run into this dog in the neighborhood who just loses it whenever she's outside. She drags her owner down the street toward people, squirrels, other dogs, rabbits, bags blowing in the wind.... at least he's not that bad, lol.

Lancer will not let Rara be trained while he's around. He's a headstrong, stubborn, attention-monger in these cases. If I go into a room with Rara, then he'll bark outside and scratch the door. The only situation when I can train Rara is when my dad is home to distract Lancer and I go upstairs with Rara to my room and shut the door while Lancer stays downstairs with my dad.

It just ends up that Rara doesn't get trick training sessions even half as often as she used to, because the required scenario is more rare and less to do with just whenever I or Rara is in a training mood. U_U One downside of having multiple dogs with one headstrong and needy.

When I do individual training the others go into crates with Kongs or bully sticks or other wonderful things. Sometimes they need to be crated in another room with the door shut before they can properly enjoy their goody, but the result is that no one is stupid-barking about being left out.

Got a couple of short term foster puppies, possibly wirehaired pointer/pit mixes. The number if times they have skullbashed my shins today makes me remember why I only love herders. Meanwhile the Naughty Nine stumpy puppies are hard at work learning social skills via the most adorable dog fights ever. They've sort of figured out how legs works, so now it's ON.

Have you thought about having him perch on something (chair, crate, etc) while you're training?

Yes, this or another task if they don't perch yet. At my house it's down-stays. Bonus is that both dogs are actually training, although be prepared for a lot of replacing at first.

Walter seems to have this particular talent for hitting me behind the knees when he bumps into me as he and Lucy chase each other around the house. You'd think I'd be better prepared for it but it surprises me every time as I try not to fall on my rear. Silly Dog!

Lincoln has a nack for getting under my feet while I am trying to walk, and he is always THERE, Josefina does the same thing so now I am falling over and trying to avoid stepping on two dogs instead of one LOL

OMG.

Payton has been not-so-certain about climbing out onto my feet for the footstall, so we took a few days off and then went back to just asking him to put four feet out. We've done that for a few days now.

I've also been working on teaching the other dogs and he hovers around the whole time whining and trying to be an over-achiever about it whenever somebody else takes a break, trying to muscle in for more reps. So today after Pepper and Auggie's turn while he was BEGGING for another turn, I thought we'd just give it a shot, and I asked him to jump up onto my feet from the floor. I thought NO WAY would he do it.

Well his very first rep he gave it a shot and tried to jump up. Didn't really make it but HOLY CRAP he tried it!! He did a few more tries where he just tried to climb up, then tried a jump up again. He nailed it for about a flailing half-second. SO MANY COOKIES FOR THIS HORRIBLE ATTEMPT.
I asked him just one more thinking I would keep rewarding horrible failed attempts... but after several more attempts at climbing up... he tried to jump again, and he got it. He actually got it. He jumped from the floor and landed in a sit with all four paws on my feet, and even held it for a good several seconds while several cookies were deposited into his mouth.

I am so proud of my little puppy, I really wasn't sure if he would ever do this. I was thrilled to even get him climbing out from the bed and kind of just figured that might be the footstall for us. But every time I give it a shot just to see if he'll do it... he proves he can do it.

IT'S A CHRISTMAS MIRACLE.
