Hank pooped in my floor for the first time ever.

What did I do? I was instantly happy because it was a normal poop! In 2 months of having him he's had terrible poops that are huge, yellow, and mushy. This was 100% normal.

So what worked? Purina. I've tried tons of 'premium foods' but purina is the only thing working. I'd noticed when I first got him he did better for the couple days he was on purina sport but we ran out.
I swear that food is awesome. (So long as your dog doesn't have food intolerances.)

I settled on taking Zander to the vet for his eye goop, made an appointment.

And now magically his eyes are clear and have been for the last two days.

:wall:

I'm not cancelling that appointment though. I know better. ;)

SUPER thankful for the strong "Leave it" command, that caused Leo to down-stay in the middle of an entire bag of chocolate chips that I accidentally spilled all over the floor. He did not eat a single one!

He gets extra doggie treats tonight :D

I'll be the wet blanket - you've sounded pretty overwhelmed with all you have going on with your current dogs recently, I'm not sure adding a puppy would be great timing. They are adorable, though!

get speckly puppy.
Which speckly puppy?! There's at least three already, and they're getting specklier by the minute.

Oh yes, I really, really don't need a puppy. Among other things, it would be nice to know how big and how evil a dog I am acquiring. Also I have puppy-PTSD from baby Brisbane and have spent nearly a decade swearing my next heeler will have bladder control and permanent teeth. I've apparently very nearly forgotten what it was like to live with a perpetually overstimulated neurotic constantly teething landshark. Nearly.

That said, I really do need to figure out what to do with Ulysses, whether that's finding another rescue to take him, placing him in an adoptive home, or deciding that he won't be safe to place.

I'm so proud of Watson. Last night after rally class we let him play with a 6 month old sheltie pup, a 1.5 year old sheltie, and an older poodle. He's been weird with other dogs lately, sometimes barking right in their faces. It seems to be a defensize/insecurity based thing, but it's aggressive enough that it could get him in trouble. A couple weeks ago he barked at the sheltie puppy and was completely inappropriate so we separated them.

This week he was fantastic. The two older dogs snarked at him and he took it well (backed off and play bowed) and he was gentle with the puppy. He didn't obsess over the other dogs when they didn't want to play and was completely like his old friendly self before he turned weird. It made me so happy :) I had some fears that his new behavior was going to be his permanent adult behavior towards strange dogs, but maybe it's an adolescent phase.

Also, I'm in the process of setting up Watson's first breeding, sometime in January. Eek! I'm kind of excited. The momma was bred once before to his father and the puppies are gorgeous with great temperaments, so we're hoping for similar from this breeding. The reason they prefer Watson to his father is that his eye test are a bit better.

And I kind of really want a puppy, but I know that now is not a good time. Still, baby Watson puppies!

I'm sayin'. Everybody needs a puppy.

This morning I started writing a song called "If I Had A Baby Kaner." Something something about puppy photos in the snow...

Is it possible for Abrams to not care for Sherman because of his health issues?

Sherman has been battling a respiratory infection and is now snorting out snot boogers. (Just sent a text to my vet about that, actually...) This morning, Abrams was out in the yard and I got Sherman out of his crate to swap with him. While he was walking towards the door he had a bit of a sneezing fit and then started backward sneezing. Abrams was NOT happy. Not aggressive, but very alert and anxious. It took a few seconds of coaxing to get him to come in the house while Sherman went outside when normally he doesn't have any issues with it.

Makes me wonder if the reason he right off the bat didn't care for him was because of the odor his skin issues give off (he's smells very demodexy). Hm.

For the first time in my life, I *don't* have puppy fever. lol. I'm very content with my dogs and our routine.

And I'm getting a puppy next week of course.
