Alrighty. I sort of ended up with a baby bunny. I can't keep him since we are planning to move and don't need to add even more animals to move across the country. He is looking for a home and I have one girl who might be interested in him so I'm crossing my fingers.

He's a 6 week old Flemish giant which of course is my favorite kind of rabbit outside of the Rex rabbits.

I was at a reptile expo and caught a couple teenagers holding him by his ears and teasing a boa with him and laughing. I gave them $10 and said if they didn't hand him over I would tell security what they were doing at the expo. So they handed him over and I ended up telling security anyways to hopefully keep them from buying another one at the expo to continue teasing the snake with on expo grounds.

So now I have a 6 week old baby in my temporary care. He was absolutely soaked in urine all the way up his belly and his paws are stained a really bright goldish yellow. I gave him a mild bath and got the pee off everywhere except the stained paws. Turns out once you get him in the tub he actually likes the water lol. He was playing in it.

He is super easy to handle and doesn't mind being held as long as you keep him close.

Now for pics.

My cat says wtf is that thing?

Bath time. Just mixed a tiny bit of Johnson's baby shampoo in a little water. Just enough to come up to his belly.

Drying off. My husband loves him.

He is ridiculously cute

I'm currently in touch with a local rabbit rescue to see if they have an opening for a foster or if they can at least cross post him for me. I'm trying to convince one of my friends that she needs to take him and clicker train him to do a bunch of fun tricks. I don't want him to end up in a home where he gets left in a small cage and doesn't get to get out and stretch his legs and enjoy life.

He is freaking precious. Congrats to you for taking him in - poor guy. People make me furious. If I wasn't moving soon, I would SO be tempted. Michael LOVES rabbits. He grew up with Holland Lops, but having a large house bunny would be awesome. If I don't end up getting ferrets after the move, I'm seriously considering a rabbit.

He's super cute and sweet looking, good on you for saving him. Too bad you can't keep him! Good luck finding him a home... good thing is that Flemish Giants are quite popular, so hopefully that goes well.

Thanks guys. Found him a home pretty quickly. There's a girl out here that used to foster for the same rabbit rescue as me. She is absolutely crazy about her rabbits and they get a lot of socialization and time to run around the house. She decided she would like to take him in as a foster though more than likely he will permanently stay at her house since she is a sucker for Flemish Giants. I'm taking him to work with me and he is going to hang out in an expen in our training room until I get off work. After work I'm going to take him to his new place of residence. It's bittersweet. I'm really happy he is going to have a great future ahead of him, but I also have gotten a little attached to him so at the same time I'm sad to see him go. I'm just glad I found him a home before I got extremely attached. Doesn't help that every time I hold him he ends up falling asleep in my arms. He took a nap with me yesterday and when he woke up he licked my nose and then yawned in my face haha. He is such a sweet little baby rabbit.
