So i've decided that I am getting my first tattoo soon. I've found the artist I like I just need to make a consultation and be on my way.

EDIT::: This is who my friend and I are thinking of going too

I've decided I want Cherry Blossom branches on my shoulder blade. Not to big not to small.

It really does not mean anything, but I really like it and I think its pretty and girlie.

Eventually I will get a tattoo to represnt Teagan on my ribs, but I wanted to start with my shoulder first.

Kinnda like this, but smaller.

Or this, but of course on my shoulder blade

So tell me people, how much does getting a tattoo done on your shoulder hurt?

I am not really worried about the pain. The thought of getting a vaccine in my arm freaks me out more than the thought of getting a tattoo.

My tattoo is on my wrist. Overall I did not think it was too horrible, but when she did the part that wrapped to the underside of my wrist that really hurt. It all depends on how sensitive to pain you are in part. Mostly it is sort of like a persistent sting...

I don't have any on my shoulders, but do yourself a favor and make sure your artist is registered with the National Tattoo Association, they're held to a higher standard. You can find out here: national tattoo association

I have a tattoo right on my shoulder blade. It took about...I dunno maybe 45 minutes? And it hurt WAY worse than the one that took 2 hours and is directly on my spine. It's different for everyone though.

Oh Adrianne. I love your flower tattoo its so pretty.

I also hear that the upper arm/ back is the least painful, but I dont think I could do arm. Too hard to cover up say for a job and lowerback I would be worried about it stretching once I have children.

I think with the shoulder blade it wont he so hard to cover up if I get a job that has issues with tattoos.

my tattoo on my shoulderblade isn't very big but it didn't really hurt at all honestly. It was my first tattoo too. I have a horseshoe with a rose for mine.

Thank you, I deleted it and tried to re-upload it in color but my flickr keeps bouncing the photo back.

Oh well.

Yeah, these will stretch with pregnancy but... meh, its a risk I was willing to take. I think my next tattoo will be malinois themed and on my ribs, ribs hurt a lot from what I have seen.

I think my next tattoo will be malinois themed and on my ribs, ribs hurt a lot from what I have seen.

I will eventually get one on my ribs in black and white, grey. With the saying "little Poet" in hand writing and a feather quill looking like its writing the words.

Teagan means "little Poet" and the feather will sympolise my native America heritage.

I also think I would want a peacock feather on my foot in full color.

I wanted my more visable tattoo's to be colorful and pretty not black and white.

I hear tattoos are addicting so I am sure I will be evetually getting more after my first one, but I cant see myself getting sleeves or anything.

Its definitely subjective, the one on my ribcage was my least painful one. Its about 4" by 6" in size. My back, which is the beginning of a full back piece hurt like hell. My wrist was a little sensitive, but not too bad.

I have a tattoo on each of my shoulder blades. The paw print on my left, which is only a couple inches, wasn't too bad. The sacred heart/claddagh I have on my right shoulder blade is a lot bigger. It was mostly ok except when it started going over the line of my shoulder blade. That part wasn't so bad. Lower back didn't feel so great. Hips were the worst so far, but they are fairly big, surprisingly, my calf didn't feel so great to have done, I thought it would be better since it was fleshy, but nope, still hurt.

My only tattoo is only my right hip- it's two magenta colored paw prints. It didn't hurt too badly, but my pain tolerance is pretty high. I'd like to get another some day, but I'm not sure where.
