My stepson's dog, Sinder, is a 3 year old pittie. Up to a year ago, his girlfriend lived with him and his dog with no problems. Sinder has always been treated wth lots of affection, sleeps in be with him, and has very bad separation anxiety when my stepson goes to work.

Over the past couple of months when my stepson brings a girl home to his place, even sometimes dating his former girlfriend, Sinder will sit and stare at the girl to the point of making them uncomforable. If my stepson & a girl are getting intimate, Sinder pees next to the bed if they are in it and has sometimes peed on the bed if my stepson & girl are on the couch.

He lives in a big open floorplan with no walls separating the one large room. My stepson asked if he should start putting Sinder out on the porch so he can enjoy a girls company. If he does this, Sinder will scratch the entire door, cry and drool. My stepson has a crate but doesn't put Sinder in it as he scratches, cries, and drools a river in it.

Any ideas of how to stop Sinder from peeing from jealousy and then also staring at the girl?

I forgot to say that Sinder was neutered as a puppy. This only started now as an adult.

I'm at a loss for suggestions.

how about a treat for the dog (the girlfriend can give it to the dog)---or a stuffed kong or something yummy --so the dog associates good with a visitor?

I'll tell him about the treats. I only hope he finds a solution as Sinder is his pride and joy who he will have forever. He just wants to be able to have a girl in his life too.

I think giving Sinder a toy to keep her occupied and flat out ignoring her for staring would be a good start. Not sure about the urination. Honestly, I'd close the bedroom door and keep that dog OUT of the bedroom while he's with a different female. ;) If she continues to urinate near the door, crate her and just deal with the drool. Easier to clean drool out of a crate than urine out of a rug.

I would have that dog on a leash when he is expecting company. I would have explained to the company what is going on. THen when hte door opens i would take the dog out immediantly. Maybe with the company if they are willing. When the dog goes, have both praise, and a treat. TAke the dog in and do not take it off the leash for at least 20 minutes until it is good and bored. THen i would take it off but not let dog out of the room yet. NOt until i am a hundred percent that is overwith. THat is what i would do.

That is weird... territorial I believe? Getting the girlfriend to give the dog
treats sounds good. Any other good things associated when people come
over would be good as well like "oh this girl gives me snacks, hugs and then
takes me for a walk, I like her". I hope it helps.
