I bought Payton some steak to use for training. I used some leftover steak the other night and it was cooked (because, you know, it was leftover.) This, of course, is just raw since I bought it fresh from the grocery.

Should I bother to sear it, or should I just slice it up and use it raw?

My dad was like "you bought steak for Payton?"
Yep. This is totally normal, isn't it?

Pretty much steak or meatballs are the TOP reward for her.

Raw for dinner, cooked for training. Mainly because I don't like bloody steak in my pocket. Last time I did it, I had a chunk of flank steak. I simmered the sucker for a while on low, squished it between paper towels, and cut it into strips. I've also dehydrated it some in the oven, depends on what it's for and if I need to put it in a suit pocket or jogging pants. :)

LOL, yeah, I was like "How am I going to hold this..?" Just run around with a fistful of raw meat? Hahaha. I mean, don't get me wrong, crazy dog lady will totally do it... I was just trying to decide on the logistics LOL.

Wouldn't a food dehydrator give me jerky? I'd rather something he can more or less inhale than something for him to sit and chew away at...

iriskai already said what I was going to say (about the bloody training treat, LOL)

Our dogs always get a lightly seared steak for Christmas dinner every year! I think they like that better than opening their gifts! LOL
