Okay, yesterday my sister was eating flaming hot cheetos and she got up for a sec and left the cheetos on the couch. Well, Luke saw his chance and sneeked one and it was two hot for him, I guess, because he was running all around the house, super fast. He was panting and whimpering and looking around and sneeking everywhere. Finally my sister understood what happened and dragged Luke over to his waterbowl. He drunk up all of it. That's the last time I think he'll be sneeking any of our food.

Oh, that's funny! It reminds me of the only time Buffy ever stole anything off the table. I had a package of habanero pepper cheese on the table and forgot it was there. Later that evening I noticed the empty wrapper on the floor and figured Buffy'd stolen it, since Bimmer never does anything so rude. I also noticed that Buffy kept licking and licking and licking and licking and licking those big jowls she had, so I was pretty sure who was the culprit. The final proof "came out" the next morning. I walked outside and she was off to the side of the house doing some business, but she was crying and howling. When she came in she had actual wet tears running down from her eyes and her nose was running. Those habanero peppers really burned her big butt! That's the last time she ever stole food off the table.

oh my gosh all y'alls poor dogs!! well at least that taught them not to sneak food!! i remember one time we had just baked brownies and put them out on the table on the porch to cool and somebody didn't know they were there and let my collie, cara (who's no longer with us) onto the porch and later we went to get them and they had a huge crater in the middle of them from where she'd eaten them... that's not what caused her death, believe it or not. my mom and i are convinced that my golden (she's three) is going to die from all the strange things (as in, not food) that's sure to be lurking around in her stomach.

oh and i heard somewhere that grapes are bad for dogs? hope that's not true because my dog eats lots of fruit.. i guess i don't see where that would be bad for dogs... (sorry i wonder about weird things sometimes, but has anybody else heard that??)

I don't know about grapes, but Shiva and Kharma love blackberries. The berries are just beginning to get ripe here, and I was walking up the drive, picking some as I walked. Buffy, our first Fila, loved picking berries with me and just adored it when I gave her the ones that were a bit too ripe to put in the basket, so I thought I'd see if Kharma, being so closely related to Buffy, would eat them, and since I always try to share equally with them I gave Shiva a big juicy one, too.

Both dogs LOVED the blackberries. There was one difference, though; Kharma kept nudging me to pick another and another and another for her, but Shiva decided she'd just pick her own! I watched her and she was doing a good job of finding the ripe ones and pulling her jowls back from her teeth so she could just nip them off without getting her lips snagged on the brambles.
