I was so proud of my dogs last night. And it wasn't even a big deal. I was able to work all three separately without anyone being annoying while it wasn't their turn.

As for actual training:
Gabby worked on her hold.
Bailey did all of her rehab.
Diego offered putting his muzzle on.

What's something good your dogs have done recently?

Hugo's recall around other dogs is getting SO much better. The other day I took him out and we met a dog he got along with so we walked around while he played with this dog. I was going to put him on leash when we had to part ways (he parked really far from us) but I decided to give him a shot since he'd been making such good progress. As soon as I called his name he spun away from the other dog, ran to me and didn't look back once as we walked the 1/4 mile to our car. So proud of my boy!

Dontcha just love the small things? I find myself doing that with Jackson sometimes, just being so proud of something so small. I'm pretty proud of Jackson for staying with me for the last 3 nights in an apartment with dogs he had never met before and he behaved himself so well, slept great, was so friendly with both dogs (BC mix and Sheltie) and even though 3 dogs in an apartment, going up/down stairs, wasn't ideal... we made it work and he took it in stride.

All last week while I was home on vacation, Watson walked perfectly on a leash during walks, and was able to drag the leash for the last bit of the walk through our woods. One time he ran off around the bend in the path, I called him, and he came flying back to me in a way I haven't seen in a long time. It really helps that it's winter and there are a lot less smells - he's much calmer outside in the winter. And maybe he's finally growing up!

I brought him with me to get my car inspected. In the waiting area I put him in a downstay under my legs. People are walking through, doors are opening from the shop, and air guns are going, noises everywhere. He's staying under my legs.

One time he ran off around the bend in the path, I called him, and he came flying back to me in a way I haven't seen in a long time. It really helps that it's winter and there are a lot less smells - he's much calmer outside in the winter. And maybe he's finally growing up!

We've only had Jesse for a few months, so have been working on his shyness and getting him comfortable with, well, pretty well everything.

Before I go to work I let the dogs out, then they get a treat when they come in (it's the only time they've got a set time limit on being outside). Three hippy/happy giddy greyhounds in my small living room... they've been taught to sit, then lay down before they get their snack. I tried a few weeks ago to get Jesse into a sit, but he's really big and awkward. He had NO clue what I was trying to do with him and just got upset over it all. Finally got him briefly into a sit, praised and treated. So instead of having him do this just yet, I've had him stand quietly at my side.

I let them in the other day and told them to go sit. I went into the living room and they all sat! Then they all got hippy-happy-giddy when I screamed, "OMG! SOMEBODY GET A CAMERA!!!" He hasn't done it again, but there's hope.

Pippa and I went for a long run this morning and she only came at me twice to bite/nip. I interrupted her both times with "watch" and then released her to chase her tennis ball. Good girl!!!

And yesterday she had ahold of the tail end of a goose. I recalled her and she nearly ran herself over trying to get back as fast as she could. Love this pup <3

After despairing recently about Leo's recall in a thread, he has been 100% perfect ever since. I am extremely happy with him, even though I know it's probably only a matter of time

Thanks! I hope he is turning a corner with this stuff. I laid all of the foundations when he was a puppy and did everything right, but then he hit 9 months and said "screw you lady!" It's been so frustrating. I think he's developing the ability to stay more level headed outside and not be so "OMG ANIMAL SMELLS! WHEEE!" all the time. I don't care at all if he runs around sniffing, he just needs to be able to hear me and come back too.

Wait, like an actual live goose?! I'm impressed that she caught it, and even more impressed that she came back.

Actually, his walking behavior was maybe the most impressive. I don't care if he sniffs as long as he doesn't pull, and always sniffs, but last week he spent 80% of the walks right at my left leg, looking at me. It was actually a little weird and creepy :lol-sign: I had to keep telling him to go sniff, so he would, and then he would come right back like "Look how good I'm walking! Can I have a treat now?" He's cute.

I had an old memory come back to me recently. Back before I got Cohen I was out with my family and came across a man and his off leash dog at a picnic area. I remember being flabbergasted that the dog listened so well while off leash and kept close to his owner the whole time while out in public. I remember wishing that one day I could have a dog like that, but wrote it off as pretty unlikely. This dog seemed pretty special.

Now, I realize that Cohen is exactly like that. And she's pretty special.

Newton got out of the yard today, which he does sometimes due to a loose spot in the fence. Not usually a big deal as we live in the middle of the woods and we're almost always watching them. I happened to take my eyes off them for a few minutes and Newton had gone on an adventure - the good part of this is that I let Cricket outside with the instructions to "go find Newton", and she led me straight to him.

Diego came to me guarding toys from dogs and people.

I recently realized that we've made enough progress that toys can be left out without an issue now. I still trade him for food often, but I can also trade for real-life stuff, and I don't always have to trade. He's relaxed when I approach.

We have had a variety of toys scattered around the apartment for about two weeks now without a single issue.

I am quite proud.

Venice passed her first level of C.L.A.S.S with m the other night. So now she is Venice BA.
