I was thinking of maybe it being in Canada? I don't know though. I'll have to let Babyblue make the decision of how far she can drive..

Well whoever wants to try the bus thing we should all talk to eachother about it or something, I think it would be FUN with all the people and dogs aboard! I don't know if we can cross the border in it though? I have NO idea what I'm talking about.

Yes I have gone on many a school, small group trip across the boarder in my younger days. People do it all the time.

Yup, crossing the border in a bus is no different than in a car, everyone needs their Identification and anything necessary for the dogs.

I REALLY hopes this happens :D

Would the company be OK with it? I guess that's what I mean by it. I hope so. Maybe we can get enough people and doggies to get the bus thing going, that would be fun too I think :)

I would probably have to car pool with someone (who in the california area wants to take my boring butt up there? lol :p) or something..I'm not too sure about driving myself for reasons like..

1) I don't even have my license ATM

2) I'd get lost lol..without a dout

3) It would be fun to drive there with some chazzers before we actually get there..If I just arrived by myself I'd probably slink into a corner and hide :lol-sign: it's pathetic, but true..It takes me a while to get comfortable around people!

I REALLY hope we get to do this! A meet up would be sooo much fun!! :D

Not to rain on the parade, but the restrictive breed ban Breed Specific Legislation would prevent me from ever visiting Ontario, or spending ANY of my money there.

ANYONE WITH APBT TYPE DOGS, or anything that might be mistaken for one, be aware of the law that is in place in Ontario. It could be dangerous or illegal for you to travel there with your dogs.

I am searching for the bill on line to post a link but so far without success.

Basically if your dog looks like a pittie you could get in trouble if you brought it out and about without a muzzle. All other breeds are fine.

There was a huge thing on the agility list about the nats being in ON. Lots of people said they would boycott it. The thing is you are not hurting the government at all by staying home. They don't care about doggie tourism at all.

As for the bus, bus companies cross the boarder (both ways) all the time. For your dog all you need is rabies.

I say money talks. And it's nothing personal, Dekka, you know I like you a lot, but I would never visit or spend money in a place that has such a law in place.

it wasn't meant to be offensive. There are LOTS of members in Ontario, more than any state. And many who live near ontario. Crossing the boarder isnt' a big deal. I visited the US twice last year.

My point was if you don't want to travel and you have the time and resources you should organize your own in your area. There are no rules on how many chaz meet ups there are allowed to be.

I started this thread for those interested in an ONTARIO meet up. If you aren't interested don't shoot down the thread....

No its no biggy, and I respect your decision.

But the government has shown that they don't care on this issue. Even if it hurt a bit of tourism they still don't care. This has been going on 4 years now...... no political party (and we have many) is willing to strike this down.

Money doesn't seem to talk in this case, I really really wish it did!!!! Many people have tried to point out the ways Ont is loosing money.... no one seems to care.

Edit- Dekka, I sent you a PM instead. I don't really think I shot down anything, in fact you were one of two to even respond to what I said. Sorry that I offended you.

I wasn't offended...:p

And you should organize one in the US. But if you want people to see it-it needs its own thread.
