I got approved as a CGC evaluator today.

:D

My kennel club is putting on a test labor day at our cluster of shows, and I will be the chief evaluator.

The CGC is a basic manners test. The dog has to submit to handing of ears, body and feet, greet a friendly stranger, both with and without a dog, walk on a loose leash, sit, down, stay, come when called, and stay with a stranger for a short period with the owner out of sight.

Many areas have training classes for those who want to get their dog ready for the CGC.

BIG BIG congrats I gave mine up a few years ago....... due to conflicts as a breeder and tester for my 4h club. Now I take my dogs there for testing...

Tell me where you test?? if I have dogs close will send them.

Hard to find a CGC tester that knows guardians dogs and is NOT afraid of the big uns.

That's great !!! Years ago it was hard to find CGC evaluations .....to me it should be in every state and hopefully many pitties will pass !! I wish there were more State regulations with perks for those who have their CGC . Unfortunately people aren't required to to pay for the number of dogs owned . If every dog was state licenced and tested , it sure would cut down on the puppy mills !
