As I sit here at one of my favorite clients, on the downside of unscrewing a self inflicted wound.... Bored out of my mind, watching an Exchange 2010 server move a MASSIVE database from one volume to another, I got to thinking about the lessons I learned today because of this. The lesson(s) would make the average "not a geek" person's eyes bleed, so I will spare the details. But I can sum it up thus... (See if you notice the reference....)
"Listen to your heart/gut because your brain screws with you sometimes."
My gut told me not to do what I did that caused me to "earn" extra work hours today. I did it anyway.... And here I sit, 5 hours later.... LOL I bailed myself out pretty well, but I missed putting Hannah to bed tonight and that is in my top 5 favorite things to do these days.
Share your favorite self inflicted wound and what you learned from it. Maybe we might help someone not make the same mistake.
