I have the green light and support of my doctor to use Ripley as a SD, so I have been working on things and pushing ourselves that direction.

I have been taking him into a local pet friendly hardware store, where he has been doing pretty dang good. Not perfect, but we are slowly pulling it together where I am building my confidence to move us into non pet friendly stores.

My question is what do you guys use as a vest. I was looking at this one: https://www.allk-9.com/service-dog-harness-p-71.html [is working funny on my browser, but if you see a bunch of links...just keep scrolling to bottom to where it is].

I am looking to hook a small pack to side to carry few doggy things [have seen some others do it], but mostly I want to assure it's very visible and the patches show well. I want a solid, long lasting harness...something I won't have to replace any time soon.

I'm liking the Julians K9 got our next one but it only has a top hook, we currently have a cheapy from Amazon right now that I like. Hes only 15wks so we went cheap lol. It also came with in training patches but only a top clip. If you need mobility tasks you can get a handle on them. I will have to look at the link when I get home.

Thanks for reply...looking around, I'm not seeing much around that doesn't cost just as much or more than this one. Or the ones I do see cheaper, I really don't like.

My only concern is size. Ripley is pretty much his full height, but I'm sure he's going to fill out more [his chest looks like it still needs to drop]. He's just a little under a year and measures around 23", so he should take a small. I can't see him bumping up past another 3 inches, but not real positive either.

I don't want to buy another any time soon, but not positive what the answer is....I've never really paid attention a growing pup if honest. hehe

Thats why we bought a $25 dollar one lol. The XL is almost too small at 16 wks though. I would try to get the one that he would be on the smallest chest setting in.

If you like the JulianK9 vests, check out BrilliantK9 - I like the look of their designs a bit better and they say they are fitted ergonomically to not restrict shoulder movement. Plus they come in more colors!

25 isn't a lot until you add it on top of 50. If he was still way off on growing, I could see it more....but he's pretty much there, other than filling out. I suspect his chest is going to drop and up the inches, will 3 be enough is my dilemma.

Maybe I'll dig around some more, see if I can find a cheesy cheap one to get by. Maybe I have a friend with sewing skills, that's an idea too.

I think some of these prices are crazy if honest...one I'm looking at, does seem worth it. But some, oh my goodness....they look like nothing but thin cloth cut out in a shape of rectangle with strings attached. lol

Oh just saw this, thanks for tip...I'll check them out. Maybe they'll have purple and a wider measurement scale to give some better growth room.

Edit: They have better growth room, but no extra clips or hooks...sounds like they are more for pulling activities. Think that would be a deal breaker for me [I want the extra hooks/clips]. Bummer, so close otherwise. :(
